My last bottle from the defunct yet memorable winery.
Smells so delicious, like a fruit yogurt
This drinks like it is fresh, with blackberry bramble, subtle and unique red fruits tucked behind the leather ones.
Tannins are still very gripping, and the acidity tames it back. A touch of heat and its off to the races! — 2 years ago
8/2024. Pulled this 2008 from the bottom of the pile. It was so good. Full of flavor and good fruit. — 4 months ago
Just an incredible 14 year old #syrah from Wind Gap that’s just screaming Crozes-Hermitage or Cornas in the glass. Cured meat, bacon fat, black olive followed by a deep well of brooding black fruit aromas. Palate is fresh with salivating acidity, aged fruit, coffee, dark chocolate and ethereal tannins on a long finish. Beautiful wine, especially for $53 for 6 bottles at WineBid (before shipping.)

Color of different shades of purple, with a bit brown note on the rim. Quite clear and light considering she is a Syrah. Nose of fragrant aldehyde, dried strawberry, oak, prune, spice, a bit leather, charcoal, and dark cherry. Nose is intense and beautiful. Taste follows the nose with addition of ripe grapes, almost no tannins and low alcohol content. Clean and savory. Right amount of acidity and a tiny bit tinkling. Aftertaste is also long enough to amaze me. Very nice. — 4 years ago
This is a great version of a California Zin. Nice notes of spice and pairs so well with a red meat meal. Found this on sale and will go get more while I can. Love the label and the cork. I am under a thunderstorm warning and this is so nice to watch the clouds rolling. Get some. — 3 years ago
Improved after opening up for a time. Dry with a strong tannins. Plum on the nose with more of a dark Cherry and leathery taste. — 3 years ago
Poured cranberry color but looks more like garnet in the glass. Notes of cherry and spices. — 4 years ago
