Outrageously loud nose. Green peppercorn, spicy beef jerky, powdered rock dust, tangy red berries behind all that. Balanced and full of flavor, there’s nice acidity lifting flavors of crushed rocky minerals. There is something like dried red berries - almost Christmas-spiced- that turn savory as the finish progresses. Tannins almost fully resolved and soft. Fascinating.

This is the style of Syrah that I adore. Savory, meaty, incredible depth and gorgeous. Blind, I'd have thought this is old world. Stunning.

Smells and tastes like cured olives with a bit of lemon and some tart plums with a bit of prune. Overall reminds me of game. Not my favorite from wind gap.

Nov 17th, 2020I am so interested to open this next to the 100 point pax Sonoma-hillsides. Definitely old world northern in style. Amazing nose of a bouquet of flowers and herbs. Also berries on the bush. There is game, blackberries, herbs, tannin, rock, and forest on the palate. Lingers for a very long time. I don’t know the AG score but it has to be pretty high. It so reminds me of the sonoma hillsides.
