Lots of earthy spice while also fresh and lively. Excellent with the octopus la plancha. With G on his big trip. Young but ready to go. — 16 days ago

Aromas of kirsch, dried cherry, old wood, leather, and warm spice lead into a broad, supple palate. The fruit is ripe and generous, with earthy undertones and hints of black olive and dried herbs. Structure comes more from fine tannins than visible acidity, giving a smooth, gently weighted flow rather than lift. The finish is savory and persistent, marked by a candied touch.
A nice traditional CdP, but it does not show the fruit purity and freshness that’s one of the hallmark of the great 16’ vintage. — 6 months ago
Sweet aroma explosion. Light honey, Mirabelle plums, apricots, white tea, candied orange peel, yet it remains so fresh.
On the palate this is so balance, so juicy, v. sweet to still fresh. And there’s depth, a hint of tannic structure, a stony, mineral finish.

It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim.
Nose of black currants, black cherries, light oak, spices, chocolates, herbs, coffee, licorice, tobacco leaf, earth, black tea and peppercorn.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and long legs
Dry on the palate with plums, black currants, light oak, licorice, chocolates, tobacco leaf, herbs, peppercorn, coffee and earth.
Long finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 5 year old Cabernet Sauvignon based Bordeaux blend from Sonoma County is already drinking beautifully. Rich and extracted. Fruit forward and chewy, complex and engaging. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel.
Still very young, and needs at least 7 years in the bottle to mature properly, so be patient. Will continue to age nicely in the next 25 years, and showing good potential to become a 95+ point wine.
A great sipping wine that will also pair nicely with a big piece of steak.
A blend of 71% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. Aged for 16 months in (95% new) French Oak barrels.
13.9% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

Still catching up from two weeks ago. Well wasn’t this quite the joy! Slightly shy upon opening, with more red fruit on the palate. Developed considerably in the glass and bottle, filling out with black fruit and a tight, beautiful tannin core. Seems in a great place right now but with years ahead of it. — 2 months ago

2025 vintage.
54 % Riesling, 37 % Gewurztraminer and 9 % Pinot Gris, Ehrenfelser and Oraniansteiner.
After the devastating winter freeze and loss of 2024 crop in Okanagan and Similkameen valleys, this vintage is a return to all British Columbia fruit. Aromatic and off-dry styled after Alsatian Edelzwicker.
Fresh and bright flavours of white peach, crisp, ripe Golden apples, ginger, lychee and lime.

Impulse buy at Market Street Market but now our go-to Rose. Enjoying it tonight on Christmas Eve with mom, Keith, and Rose. — 5 years ago
Soft fruit, gentle mousse. Bright and lively nose featuring crisp green apple, lemon zest, pear, and vibrant citrus fruit, layered with subtle white flowers (like honeysuckle). Expressive flavors of white cherry, apricot, and blood orange, beautifully balanced by a distinct vertical minerality and chalky clay terroir — 2 days ago
Now this is a Chenin Blanc I can get behind! Slightly aging brassy gold. Nose is so nice: sweet, oozing, bruised orchard fruit, a floral/tropical note. Sweat (but not stinky sweat). On the palate it’s terrific. Like fresh sweet slices of Anjou pear. A very slight oxidative note (but not enough to turn me off), and some bitter honey. Long finish. — 2 months ago
2020 vintage Drinking well in December 2025. The minimal oak was not bothersome. $40 — 10 months ago
Lots of complex aromatics that became even more expressive as the bottle warmed up. Some oxidative notes mixed with bread and flowers. In the mouth this leans to the vinous side. Acid driven which allows it to be consumed through out the meal. Just a hint of bitterness on the finish — 3 years ago

Sous-bois, macerated fruit, brown spices, dried herbs. Warm, rustic and ripe, this has a lovely syrah/mourvedre soul and excellent balance. Yes, it’s mature and aging, but I’m glad to see that not all 07 Ch9dP’s are falling apart. — 9 days ago
