Giving a slight chill now, to be paired with a beautiful slab of steelhead trout on the grill this evening 🐟😋
Profile is still consistent with my prior notes, please search if you're interested. I was a little concerned on cork extraction, slightly soft but well intact. Nose started out a little oxidative, different from other experiences on this one, but all that seems to have blown off, doing great now and should improve!
I love grilling a good cold water fish, always plenty of fats in the muscle to be very forgiving on the grates. In addition to proper surface prep, this fish is always non-stick, skin and flesh sides. — 8 days ago
The first nose is very mineral : crushed rocks only. Then after a while hay comes, then lemon, then after a while pineapple and mango. The nose literally blossoms in the glass. Magnificent ! The palate is pretty straight forward at first with a solid acid backbone and some width with lemon but it gets bigger and wider after a while and the exotic fruits make an appearance in mid palate that turns this bad boy into a beauty. The finish is precise, pretty long, with both lemon and exotic fruits taking turns to show off. It was served along an entrée dish consisting of fresh goat cheese and herbs, candied apricot and pear, beef jamon (cecina) and olive oil. Perfect pairing! — 14 days ago
Light gold color with lemon and oak notes on the nose. Excellent minerality and Chardonnay fruit flavors on the entry with lingering fruit on the palate but as it airs oak predominates which I don’t find unpleasant. The aftertaste lasts a full 40 seconds. — 4 days ago
08’ Was a very good vintage. It holds up to the 05 & 02.
The nose is somewhat restrained. Don’t let that fool you. The palate, lushness(when it warms up)with apples, intense mineral core. Great structure & balance. The rather high acidity & fruit play nicely together.
Has another 5+ years in it. — 16 days ago
Golden color with some viscosity; nose is composed of red apples, pear, apricots and oranges, a sleek oak profile, almonds, butter and wet stones; fruit-driven with high acids and much from the nose in the taste. Really great chardonnay experience clearly distinct from north Burgundy and Chablis. — 7 days ago
Not too strong on acidity. Notes of apple and some tropical flavors. This wine went well with roasted tomatoes w/ shrimp and feta. Bought at Riverdale Vintner, $17.99. — 5 days ago
