An exceptional aglianico that was a perfect pairing with a tasting menu of Tuscan and Roman food. A little VA - but not in a distracting way! — 5 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a few hours. The 2021 pours a garnet color with a transparent core; medium plus viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of tart and ripe red and black fruit: Morello cherry, raspberries, pomegranate, roses, fresh asphalt, talcum powder, dry green herbs, gravelly earth. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and a touch savory. In general, the 2021’s are strutting at this early stage and it’s hard to say if they will shut down like the 2010 and 2013 vintage or keep delivering the goods like the 2016 vintage. Regardless, the future is long and bright. Drink now with patience and through 2061. — 9 months ago
Dinner w Bryan and Katy at Crown Super Deluxe, a fancy Benihana w JAPANESE FRUIT TOMATOES and lobster that jumps off the plate and proper Japanese A5 Wagyu (not some American imitation shit). The wine: a Cab franc merlot that’s lighter than you would expect. A recommendation from the house that was a delicious end to the meal, and was perfect w the Wagyu. — 6 years ago

Blend of White Grenache 50% and Roussanne 50%, aged for 1 year in new oak, bright lemon color with aromas of citrus, stone fruits and toasty mineral notes. On the palate flavors of apple, peach and lemon citrus with toasty notes and spice, slightly creamy. Medium+ finish, vivid acidity, nice balance ending with lemon citrus and fresh mineral character. — 2 months ago

Another wine from Greg’s friend Andrew. A little chalky. But should open up. Very nice. Beautiful color. — 7 years ago
Garner coloration. Some translucency. On the nose, cherry, strawberry, florals, and hints of minerals. Right out of the bottle, fruity and flowery. On the palate, cherry, cranberry, forest floor, strong tannins. — 2 months ago

Soft, lots of cherry/ prune. Little sour too. I’ve had this with tomato based dishes and it’s nice. This time I made orriechieti, raab, and chickpeas. ( and a few cherry tomatoes). Went well with it. Enjoyable — 11 days ago
