Part of a Chateau Mouton Rothschild vertical from 1988-1990. This was my second time enjoying the 1990 vintage and, much like my previous experience, this was rather quiet early and then came on with the business, late. As before, a mix of red and black cassis, ripe and desiccated cherries, tobacco leaf, cedar box, old leather, damp earth, some mushrooms and baking spices. After two similar experiences, I believe this vintage needs a lot of patience and a lot of air to wake up. Without either, it will be misunderstood. Drink now through 2040+ — 22 days ago
This is my first pedesclaux, on nose its roasted nut, leather, oak, blueberries. On palate, its great intensity, juicy, bright fruits character, truffle, and a long finish. For me its typically pauillac, as its a good all round wine,, balanced. Cheers everyone! — 14 days ago
Rounded and complete. Quite dense and impenetrable still… pencil lead and deep pluminess. — 6 days ago
Medium ruby , garnet rim, touch of terracotta rim . Slightly dusty , animal touch , with leather , spicy and herbal , soy , iodine . On the palate quite strict , grafite , slightly more red fruit , cranberry , then blackcurrant and grafite . Slightly dusty dry tannins , balanced acidity . Slightly spicy , mineral , grafite tinged finish . This needs a bit of time to open but shows quite well , slightly herbal , and perhaps lacks a little charm , but is quite classic in style if not a great 1985. From now and over the next 10 years . On the night this was probably only ahead of the 1977 , and my least favourite of the 1980s vintages . — 25 days ago
2022 vintage. Pedesclaux becomes better and better, and that is also reflected in the second wine. Fleur de Pedesclaux is usually dominated by Merlot, but this 2022 is 49% Merlot, 46% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot. Therefore, it shows a more typical Pauillac character than before, with black fruit (cassis, blackberries), some smokiness, a powerful structure, and serious length. Abv. 14%. Even better the next day. Should age beautifully. — 3 days ago

Nearly 20 years in bottle. It is still ascending for another 15 days plus years.
From a warm vintage. Beautiful, even toned fruits with elegant earth & amazing lead pencil bloom for days.
This is approaching its peak, another 5 years from its peak.
Well resolved wine-fruits. The fruits are juicy, blackberries, black raspberries, plum skin, dark cherries & slightly, poached strawberries with a highlight of pomegranate. Mocha, dark chocolate, black tea, sandalwood, sandstone, limestone, some mushroom notes, dark, rich turned earth w/ dry leaves, dry tobacco, dry leather, dry herbs, dry stone, caramel notes, dry, withering, dark, purple & red flowers with excellent acidity, balance, tension, structure and finish for days that lasts 90 seconds. — 10 hours ago
