Cherries, tobacco, coffee, blah, blah, blah. It was a nice wine with good balance though, don’t get me wrong. It paired well with my filet. — 3 days ago

dependable gamay that’s better chilled — really feels like jammy blackberries in the mouth — 14 days ago
Estate dates back to Crusades & Scottish navigator, George Smith, owner in the 18th century. Blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot aged in 20% new oak, deep Ruby with aromas of dark berry, herbs and earthy spice. On the palate flavors of plum, cherry & currant with notes of pepper, tobacco & cacao notes. Soft rich full tannins, long finish ending with fruit, earthy and mineral character, needs a little more time. — a month ago
Light to medium ruby , wide light garnet ruby rim . Fresh herbs , pine and red cherries on the nose , very fresh and pure . On the palate slightly spicy cherry , cedar , dried herbs, liquorice . Nice rounded red fruit , but with fresh lively acidity and fine , ripe medium tannins. Good length , with a herbal , spicy cherry tinged finish . Drink now and over the next 2-3 years whilst it retains the fresh fruit character that makes this so attractive — a month ago
One of the 1001 wines. The brilliance of Mesnil is on show in Les Chetillons - let’s not forget that two of the most prestigious Champagnes are from here too, Salon and Krug’s Clos de Mesnil. This is much more reasonably priced than those two. When poured this has a very fine bead with voluminous mousse. The colour of bright straw yellow. The palate had broad developed notes with mushroom and toasted hazelnuts in the aromas. After a while a delightful note of poached pear. — a month ago
Wine is dark ruby, with purplish on the edge. On nose its ripe fruit, floral parfumed, oak in there, violets, tobacco. On palate, wine is full bodied, jammy, fine acidity, tannic, wine is open up after 1 hour decant. The intensity is there. Its still too young to drink. Try it after 2026. Red bordeaux blend, Cheers! — 15 hours ago
Tenia algo en nariz que no podia identificar, aunque era familiar, y no me encantaba. 14.5% de abv. En boca mucho mas balanceado con un post-gusto largo. Taninos persistentes. El olor misterioso - Diet Cherry Coke? 🍒 - not a fan. — 14 days ago

Opened yesterday. Quite bretty and reductive upon opening, but the funkiness has blown away now. The nose shows cola, dark cherry, green pepper bell, and black pepper. That cola note is something I usually get with natural wines from loire and beaujolais. The palate is yummy with a great acid drive, some superb cherry notes all along, some black pepper, some pomegranate touches, a bit of a drying layer in the rear that is quite peppery and a long fruity, joyfull finish that goes on for a while. It's not your typical extracted chinon. It's a modern, low intervention style that is delicious but needs time to settle. The anti-brett community out there might have a hard time with it 😅 but give it some time to breathe, and you will be rewarded.
Edit: it's even better 4 hours after. Delicious juice with some complex layers on top of it — 12 days ago
