Nature Gamay of very good quality, in the spirit of Marcel Lapierre (his nephew has told me). At the same time greedy, accessible, and with a very beautiful aromatic density which unfolds especially when one gives the wine time to air out. Superb for its price.
— 5 years ago
My first Saint-Bris! Pale lemon yellow color. Plush aromas of citrus fruit, white flowers, chalk and abundant fresh herbs. Flavors of unripe peach, all those savory herbs, green apple and lemon zest. Noticeable mineral backbone on the long and drawn out finish. Lively and crisp acidity. Medium-minus body and wonderful freshness. Vibrant and harmonious! There are Chablis comparisons here. Another example of outstanding white burgundy! — 6 months ago
This wine looks medium-dark ruby in the glass. The nose is electric. A whiff of smoke gives way to black cherry and currant aromas, but the smoke lingers and reappears on each swirl. The palate is elegant and smooth, with red fruit flavors draped in a savory shawl. The tannins are a bit tame, but the acidity is refreshing. Pair it with a mild, soft cheese, or a Nicoise salad. — 10 months ago
Cuvée Primeur, but not "Nouveau" from Gamay in Beaujolais by the Lapierre family. We recognize the style on the purity that has made the reputation of these remarkable winemakers. A charming and subtle fresh and pure juice, between strawberry, pomegranate, red fruits, floral notes. Even better the next day.
— 3 years ago
A weeknight dinner w friends & what a gift they brought: one of my favorite producers. What is surprising is how soft & approachable this is compared to, let’s say, a Lapierre Morgon from same vintage. Still, rather closed on nose, with a porous forest floor & red currant compote, but with muted acidity. It’s still delicious, but a few ticks away from infanticide. — 4 years ago

Dried dirt and a touch of mushroom jump out of the glass immediately. Pomegranate and mulled cranberry with a bit of barnyard and potpourri. The tannins are still there, but acidity is more present. The tartness from the red fruit comes through on the palate with dried dirt, tree bark, and umami. This is definitely mid-morph. Maybe 3 more years would benefit this wine greatly. Still quite yum now. — 6 years ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2023 (S) pours a deep ruby/purple with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe strawberry, Bing cherry, red and purple flowers, red rope licorice, rocky earth and cool spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. This vintage of Lapierre shows the warmth of the vintage and oozes generosity. In some ways, this reminds me of the 2015 vintage. Drink now through 2033+. — 4 months ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2021 “N” (Sans Soufre) is identical to the standard Morgon except it’s bottled without the addition of, you guessed it, sulfur. It pours a slightly dull ruby color with a translucent core; medium viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with gorgeous notes of fresh and funky dark cherry, strawberry, raspberry, licorice, red flowers, some horse blanket, green herbs and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium with lovely minerality. In a year that is often maligned (not by me), this was absolutely gorgeous. You just kept wanting to go back to the glass and smell it. Drink now through 2036, probably. — 9 months ago
N: brambly red berries and dark cherries, pink flowers, light woodsy notes, white pepper
P: fruit is tangy and bright on the palate, w a pepper savory quality.
Delightful w roast chicken
