Nice wine, but to be honest I was a bit disappointed. Have had and enjoyed many bottles of basis / liaison, first time having one of their “grand crus”. Quite transparent. Lovely light red berry nose. A bit raspberry soda quality on the palate. There is some earthiness but not quite enough to stand up to a simple roast chicken with mushrooms cooked in the chicken fat. Opened 10 hours before drinking, no decant — 3 years ago

Cleaning out my cellar for a move or at least reduce what i have. All 3 E&M‘s 14,15,16 Liaisons should be consumed within 30 minutes upon opening they are good to go drink up! Within 2 hours they loose appeal. I stand corrected - this one went through a down phase and then came back after 24 hours. The freshest and brightest of my recent trifecta of E&M and also the most pale. Still quite tannic. Touch peach? Sour raspberry, hint lime 🍋🟩. Crushed marble. Quite acidic. The 14 was the clear winner. In all cases the cork was quite soft and almost all the way moist to the top. — 2 months ago
14.5% essentially a California fruit bomb in French clothing. They are really loosing it the French. Cherry over the top. May be this will loose its fruit over time. Now I am not impressed especially vis-a-vis the 2019 Liaison Enderle & Moll. May be this had to be done with the high taxes imposed in the Trump era. — 4 years ago
This is insane. The new Liaison from Sven’s new winery. Gorgeous nose that really recaptures that E and M magic from 2009 and 2010. Deep cherries. Black cherries. Galore. Lipstick like intensity. Smells like elite Nuits St. Georges. Mindblowing for how pure it is. The most unreal dark black cherry fruit you’ve ever smelled. Like AI levels of black cherry. Also a lovely chalky background and compelling minerality. Blackberry and blackberry flower as well. So juicy and engaging with terrific power and wow that black cherry and blackberry fruit. Unreal freshness and sap. Awesome concentration and intensity and super small berry fruit intensity. This is so insanely delicious and has terrific backbone and structure for mid term aging. Now with air the florals are starting to go crazy. Also tree bark and other non fruit aromas. Just so good. Wow the concentration is off the charts. This is utterly compelling and unlike anything I have ever had from Germany. Genius. — a year ago
Between partial carbonic maceration and oak aging. The perfect expression of Beaujolais-bourguignon gamay. Airy and concentrated mouth, red fruits (strawberry, raspberry, cherry), gourmet bubble gum, even regressive. More serious spicy notes perfectly balance the bouquet, linked by herbal peppery notes. One of the basics to me. Exactly the kind of wine you find as a buddy.
— 3 years ago
Spectacular. Vibrant and fresh. Great acidity. — 4 years ago

Dubourdieu – Liaison 2022
Sauternes, Bordeaux – France 🇫🇷
Overview
This 2022 Sauternes is a blend of 99% Sémillon and 1% Sauvignon Blanc, offering an affordable yet authentic taste of botrytis-affected wines (noble rot) from this iconic region. Crafted under the influence of the Dubourdieu family legacy, it reflects both pedigree and accessibility.
Aromas & Flavors
Candied apricot, dried peach, and orange zest dominate, with layers of honey, cream, and subtle spice. A touch of citrus lift keeps it bright.
Mouthfeel
Lush, creamy, and medium-sweet with balancing acidity. Not cloying — instead, elegant and smooth with a long, harmonious finish.
Food Pairings
Equally versatile as an apéritif or dessert wine. Pair with blue cheese, foie gras, nut tarts, or simply enjoy with stone-fruit desserts. Also shines on its own as a liquid treat.
Verdict
A crazy delicious and overdelivering Sauternes at its price point. Balanced, expressive, and approachable — it won’t disappoint anyone seeking a classic noble rot experience. 🍯🍑 cheers!
