Anne de K Schlossberg Grand Cru Riesling 2017

Straw hue. Nose of white flowers and orchard fruit. Fresh pear, apple, peach, and cantaloupe, honeysuckle, white lilies, honey, and wet stone on the palate. Dry. Vintage 2017. ABV 13%. Works well with the spiciness and heat of the chili. Spent considerable time thinking about what best to pair with chili, from a wine perspective. Glad we chose this one, but second choice was to pair with a Southern Rhône, Grenache-based blend, which leads me to this question: what wine do you think best complements chili or a red-meat dish with Mexican spices? So curious as to what others have tried and liked. #riesling #alsace #alsacegrandcru #schlossberg #annekriesling — 12 days ago

Wow, tough question. With chili I prefer ice water. With spicey dishes I lean toward beer or again water . Maybe ill learn more from others responses.

Thanks @Dennis P. The Riesling was pretty good, but I think beer would be another promising pairing! Or perhaps champagne 🍾 🥂

Végétal, minéral, Pierre à fusil, effervescent! Vraiment très différent. C’est une expérience à vivre. Il y a un dépôt, verser légèrement ou décanter! — 3 days ago

Domaine Zind Humbrecht

Clos Windsbuhl Hunawihr Riesling 2014

Pop and pour. An arresting medium gold color. On the nose: pear, honey, apple, floral with a hint of cinnamon. Taste: lemon, some tangerine, pear , minerals . A firm dry wine with just a touch of sweetness that went well with all kind of food at Luce restaurant — 5 days ago

Not much in nose. Lovely dry crisp apple à touch (and just a touch) of pineapple. Tact acid finish. — 3 days ago

Vignoble du Rêveur

Singulier Riesling

Deeply complex, but not super intense. You have to go to it, but it’s great when you do. White flowers, starfruit and other tropicals, stone fruit, musty herbs, petrol, food brew coffee, raisins (think a dry PX sherry note). The deep notes and fruit notes aren’t integrated into one another per se, but they harmonize like a duet. Really cool wine. — 3 days ago

Hugel et Fils

Gentil Alsace Sylvaner Blend 2015

This might be Hugel’s standard Alsatian white blend, but this wine is quite complex. Tropical fruit and apricot aromas and flavors. Hint of lemon zest. Loads of minerality. Mouth watering acidity. Good stuff. — 10 days ago
