Anne de K Brut Blanc des Blancs Crémant d'Alsace

Pale yellow with fragrant aromas of stone fruit and some biscuit notes. The palate shows apple and pear flavors, lemon zest with nice texture. Tangy long finish, vivid acidity, champagne like, pleasant, ending with fresh yeast character. Tasting Sample. — 16 days ago

Roche Calcaire Riesling 2015

Richness of fruit with concurrent ripeness running throughout, intense petrol and mineral notes about. Electric acidity buzzing across all parts of the palate. All traits of a long ripening site(s). Oh riesling on limestone, how I love thee. — 17 days ago

Les Princes Abbés Alsace Pinot Gris 2016

Loved this wine. I dont usually favor pinot gris, but really enjoyed this one. A little fruit forward but not sweet. I cant have beer , so drank with boiled crawfish. It was great! — 4 days ago

Reserve Gewürztraminer 2014

Botrytis stands out - rubber, honey, burnt popcorn, and ginger on the nose. Greater body than any other gwertz I’ve had. Spicy ginger carries throughout, rounded by honey and floral notes. White peach and apricot fruit. Very enjoyable expression of the variety. — 16 days ago

Clos Ste. Hune Alsace Riesling 1999

Medium gold color, heavy like oil in the glass. Crazy nose. Tropical at first. Notes of apricot, petrol, pineapple, gravel and some blood orange. Rich and sweet with some additional honeysuckle in the mouth. Over the night the sweetness gave way to deeper fruit and the structure/acidity powered up. Improved every hour. Special juice. — 12 days ago

love CSH but usually drink the FE for 90% of the pop at 25% the price. Great note. You drink well

Hengst Grand Cru Pinot Gris 2004

Like a Vendage Tardive. Hints of Botrytis gives a wonderful complexity. 16 years old. Lovely cumquat marmalade, wasabi and olive oil. No hint of oxidation. Unctuous on the palate yet a freshness that is confounding. Incredible length and finish. — 10 days ago

Sommerberg Grand Cru Riesling 2015

I struggle with Boxler. Tried them a few years ago, when I didn’t really understand Alsace, and couldn’t quite square the price point. Not much has changed, unfortunately. Lacks acid, depth. — 3 days ago

I would upgrade this to at least 9.1 on day two. Added some weight and precision I wasn’t expecting.

Domaine Weinbach

Cuvée Laurence Alsace AOC Pinot Gris 2017

Delicious Pinot Gris from my favourite producer in Alsace. Incredible depth with nectarine and ripe lemon. Style ressemble a bit more of a late harvest Riesling. Absolutely awesome with a spicy curry. — 21 days ago
