Tenuta San Guido

Guidalberto Toscana Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2020

At an Italian Restaurant on the Gold Coast having a nice pasta dish of Rigatoni with Lamb Shoulder. This wine by San Guido where their top Cuvée is the famous Sassicaia. This wine is 50/50 Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Oak maturation is well balanced using a combination of new and used oak. The nose shows obvious Cabernet traits and shows again how suitable Bolgheri is to Bordeaux blends - plummy notes. A good match with the dish. A dry finish. — 7 days ago

Not allot of orange but nice taste. I like Barolo better but this is nice. Especially for the price. — 9 days ago

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2018

Silky and smooth. Ripe cherries, apricot, melon, white truffle in nose. Red wild berries, honey, raspberries, a pinch of lime at palate. Medium soft tanins, moderate low accidity. Getting much reacher after good breath. — 11 days ago

Drinking in 2025. Has aged well. Beautiful and fragrant nose of dark cherries, tobacco, snd vanilla followed by spices and hints of herbs on the palate. Time has no doubt mellowed the tannins and transitions to a longish smooth finish. Acidity still present and will continue to age well. Suspect lower ratings reflect people drinking this wine young. — 3 days ago

Deep, dark ruby coloration. Almost black. No translucency. Heavy tearing. On the nose, dark cherry, blueberry, blackberry, currant, tobacco, forest floor and florals. On the palate, full body, lush mouth feel, strong minerality, with jammy black currant, anise, pepper, followed by a long finish of chocolate, forever, and hints of mint. Nicely balanced tannins. Outstanding wine. — 18 days ago

Tignanello Toscana Super Tuscan Blend 2021

Unbelievably young but already smooth. Really fruity at this stage but will evolve nicely. Was hard to identify as a Supertuscan. Would consider buying some of this vintage and forgetting about it for 10 years... — 17 days ago

Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia Bolgheri Rosso Merlot Blend 2015

Bordeaux style blend of Merlot (64%), Cabernet Sauvignon (17%), Cabernet Franc (10%) and Petite Verdot (9%). Dark ruby/purple color with a garnet rim. Aromas of dark berry fruit, graphite and dusty earth. Flavors of blackberry, black cherry, ripe plums, kirsch, black licorice and iron. Full bodied, long finish and intensely structured. Beautifully integrated acidity and tannins. Great combination of power and elegance. — 21 days ago
