Terroir de Granit St. Joseph Syrah 2019

Closed but concentrated and not too tannic. With an hour of air the nose starts to give up deep granitic minerality and some very dark berry skin fruit. A bit of graphite and salty iodine too. In the mouth it’s got good flavor density and nice acids. Tannins are obvious but feel like they’ll settle within a couple of years. Great value from WTSO. — 25 days ago

Cuvée du Chaos Fleurie Gamay 2019

Francois’ warehouse after tasting his and Val’s wines. Lively wine. Spicy. Tannic, but with sweet fruit finish. — 5 days ago

Juwel Silvaner 2020

Silver skinned friendly little guy - refreshing and won't offend a soul.

Shows a shimmering glow, faint spritz of lemon, pear, and lilac. Citrus oil and pears in a mouth of mildly viscous texture and good acid.

Slight preference for this year's Weissburgunder...

For the price this wine is amazing, better after day two. Mineral, rocks, citrus, green apple, medium acidity. — a month ago

Chopping Block Paso Robles Syrah Blend 2018

Medium ruby with a very powerful Ripe👃 of blue and red fruits. Blueberries, dried cranberries, a bit of dried herbs, and blood orange. The wine is drier than the nose and the Paso Robles location led me to assume. Plenty of body (full) and tannins, this is what I would call a brooding wine. Medium acidity. Nice, pleasant finish. Would probably have gone better with a heavy stew and fall/winter weather. It’s 90 degrees and I’m drinking it on a walk. That being said, I’m the kinda guy that will eat pizza for breakfast, so it’s still good. — 3 days ago
