Delicious Chocolate over dried fruit notes with nice dry floral notes. A very nice nebbiolo without face ripping tannins- a good sipper but also would pair well with the lighter side of Italian foods. — 5 months ago
Beautiful aromatics with light (dried?) dusty cherries, wilted flowers, a hint of rose. Quite light, quite aetheric. So enticing!
Light bodied on the palate and very juicy. A present, fine tannic frame, filled with light cherry, a hint of red fruits, a light herby note. So poised & elegant and really delicious! — 3 years ago

These are some of my favorite Mountain Nebbiolo. ArPePe actually ages the Riserva before releasing. — 6 months ago
blend of sassella and grumello vineyard. Acid, structures are well balanced and very fine. More dense minerality, fruit, good structure than Arpepe rosso. Amazing. — 6 years ago
Still fresh in spite of a little oak sweetness, fluid commercial style — 8 years ago
Flavorful but airy light. Very delightful and close to grumello. — 8 years ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of two days. Gorgeous on both days. The 2019 Grumello “Rocco de Piro”pours a brilliant, ruby color with a transparent core and a slightly watery rim; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with gorgeous notes of cool, fresh raspberries, roses with babies breath, Alpine herbs, cedar chest, and rocky earth. On the palate the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and the texture is silky. Such a beautiful and elegant expression of Chiavennasca. Drink now through 2034. Thanks for the assist @Lyle Fass — 5 months ago
Powerful for a Valtellina, and a little on the austere side. Mature nose shows chokecherry and leather, mahogany scents, along with lots of crushed rock. Intense but lean in the mouth, with zingy acidity and zippy crisp cherry and lots of minerality. Still a bit of puckery tannin. My brother brought this back from Italy a few years ago for me. Grazie! — 5 years ago

Blend of 20% Riservas from Sasella, Grumello, Inferno and Valgela with 20% Sfursat.
Amazingly complex nose full of cherries, lilies, spices, leather, herbs, a whiff of mint. Very youthful and without any evolved aromas. Midweight on the palate with impeccable balance, juicy acidity, a still firm, dusty tannic grip and a finish that goes on and on. Wow! What a wine. — 8 years ago
Excellent wine even for people who do not love sweet wines. Absolutely recommended. Try it if you can! — 8 years ago
