Pretty, light salmon color. My nose picks up strawberry, grapefruit, and melon. Very light taste that rounds to a nice delicate but fast finish. Sipping while I read, but this would be excellent with shrimp or fish. Probably my third fave rosé in this price range, after Miraval and Gerard Bertrand. — 5 years ago

Double-decanted prior to service. The 1988 pours a garnet color with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and some fine sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with beautiful notes of cassis, brambles, tobacco, capsicum, leather, inorganic earth and a mix of herbs and fine spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin (integrated) and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is medium+. The label is beat to hell but the condition of the wine inside the bottle was perfect. Classic, old school Bordeaux from a classified growth. Drink now through 2043. — 20 days ago

I’m a day early for Canada Day. This wine checks all the boxes though. Aged, complex but soft. Bordeaux blend for a France win but farrrrrr west. Paired with dry aged bone in Striploins from the Pacific Northwest. Beef and grapes from the same area is a great marriage. — 4 months ago
