Stainless steel fermented at low temperatures and rests on fine lees through winter before bottling.
Bright straw yellow in colour.
Fragrant aromatics of dried Chamomile, Acacia flowers and almonds.
In the mouth…stone fruit, white peach, herbs and Asian pear.

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a few hours. The 2021 “Del Comune de La Morra” pours a brilliant garnet color with a transparent core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing and redolent with bright, fresh red fruits: framboise, Morello cherry, freshly paved asphalt, trampled rose petals, a kiss of VA, and dry gravelly earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. A wine you just want to smell for an eternity. Brilliant. This enjoys a lot of air and I expect will have a very long life. Drink now with patience through 2061. Thanks @Lyle Fass for the assist! — 9 months ago

A bit more advanced than expected, but this shows La Morra’s aromatics and elegance quite well.

The perfumed nose shows red cherry, strawberry, rose petal, cinnamon, forest floor, and hint of balsamic. Medium body. The palate is more savory than the juicy nose suggests. Cool acidity and gentle tannins. — 3 months ago

This wine pours a somewhat clear ruby red. It has a nice nose. The fruit is restrained. And after it’s been open for a little bit, the tannins really come through. This is an excellent wine that I got at Costco for $48. I would definitely re-buy it.
