I consumed my stocks of this dozen way too soon. I had the first bottle 209 weeks ago and now only have 1 left which I will leave until 2027 when 10 years old. Currently stacks of citric acid - lemon and lime. A whiff of Granny Smith Apple. Rob Diletti also makes the Riesling for his near neighbour Dukes which win awards left right and centre - 99 points from Halliday for the Dukes. — 2 years ago
I love a good wheat beer and this hits the spot on this gorgeous Florida day! Took the day off and I’m going to enjoy it! @Eddie Dukes does the glass look familiar! 🍻 cheers! — 3 years ago
2022 Vintage. What @Eddie Dukes said! Went great with spicy Thai food. — a year ago
Stewed red fruits on the nose with a gamey note. A well made Porongorup Pinot Noir from Rob Diletti who is better known for his excellent Rieslings and contract winemaking to Dukes. Rob has packed a lot into this medium bodied Pinot with Cherry and Strawberry notes along with Sous Bois and that gamey character mentioned earlier. 2 bottles left - taste the next one in a year. — 2 years ago
Lovely cherry and cherry blossom nose. Cherry, cinnamon, minerals, and fresh strawberry on the palate. Medium tannins, medium alcohol, and high acid that lingers long into the finish. Beautiful structure and balance. A beautiful wine start to finish in the Burgundy style. — 3 years ago
Delectable this is the Magpie Hill Reserve Shiraz not offered in your choices. Dukes better known for their award winning Rieslings but the Porongorup district of Western Australia also produces lovely spicy peppery meaty Shiraz with notes of liquorice, herbs and charcuterie. This is the first of 6 bottles bought at the Cellar Door a few years ago. Contract winemaking by the talented Rob Diletti from neighbouring Castle Rock Estate. Great value at only $31 AUD for a wine of this quality. Had another bottle 37 weeks later on the 21st December 2024 with consistent notes. Still can’t believe what great value this Shiraz is. — 2 years ago
What a perfect wine for Hawaii. Crisp, dry, refreshing, with sea salt, minerals, lemon, a touch of petrol, and some tropical fruit. Value imo at dukes. — 2 years ago
@Darby Mae wow from dukes. Will share. Note to self- stock up for rest of summer. — 3 years ago
Sipping Fine Wine
The Clos du Roy has been around ever since the dukes of Burgundy, residing in nearby Dijon, documented, and drank in its virtues.
Ruby red color with aromas of ripe fruits with floral perfume and earthy tones, aged for 14 months in 30% new oak. On the palate flavors of berry and plum fruits, with pepper spice notes. Soft fine tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit, floral and earthy spice character. — 12 days ago
