Dark opaque ruby red color. Aromas of cherries, fresh herbs, wood smoke and espresso. Flavors of black cherries/currants/plums, baking spices, black licorice and dark chocolate. Long elegant, yet earthy finish. Medium-plus body and ample weight. Well polished and totally harmonious. More fruit forward than I expected. Simply excellent. What a nose. Custardy, gras, tropical but also granitic. Wow. So expressive. Citrus marmalade. So mineral and just expansive. Like a 9.6 nose. Maybe more! It’s a 9.7 nose. Sickness. Palate has energy for days and days and is so elegant, fresh and complex. Beautiful. Long. This is one of the best St. Perays I have ever had. Wow does it cling with super pure citrus and edgy tropical fruits that just coat the palate. Rich and energetic is my favorite combo. As this airs it comes more into focus and gets so nimble. So complex. Almost a 9.7! — 3 years ago

This wine has the kitchen sink in it. Dark fruit is hiding under the prominent leather, herbs, mint, tobacco, and earth. It's a fine sipper for jazz nights by the fireplace. Made my teeth red.
