Great examplar of the old school Barolo…decanted 90 mins….seriously pungent/truly gorgeous nose, more refined on the palate but lots of fruit, still a bit wooden/tannic - not offensively so but could probably mellow another 5 years. But very drinkable now, perfect with a heavy roast. Nose is so fragrant I could go around sniffing this all day — 11 days ago

This wine paired well with both barbacoa and mole poblano. Two different Mexican dishes that are often hard to pair with wine. The sweetness of the mole blended well with the fruitiness of the wine. — 3 years ago

Founded in 1979 by Giovanni Cantele and his two sons Augusto and Domenico. Ruby with big fruit aromas with sweet jammy notes. On the palate concentrated berry fruit flavors, a bit jammy and sweet, lively acidity, surprisingly great balance. Firm tannins yielding a medium finish ending with noticeable alcohol. Good value for a wine with a bit of complexity. — 5 years ago

Compared to the Domenico Clerico Barolo Ciabot Mentin Ginestra this still had plenty going on and I think would have gotten better with more time. Some berries and tar stood out but busy evening.
