Love it 😻 not sweet — 2 months ago
Chapoutier family dates back to the early 19th century when current owner Michel Chapoutier’s great-, great-, great-grandfather Marius purchased estate and some vineyards in the now famous village of Tain l’Hermitage in Northern Rhône Valley. Ripe red berry fruit aromas. On the palate, this wine displays cherry and blackberry fruit with earthy notes, and a bit of crushed rock. Tannins are soft and savory, good balance, ending with a lingering mineral finish. Nice! — 9 months ago
History of Chapoutier family dates back to the early 19th century when current owner Michel Chapoutier’s great-, great-, great-grandfather Marius purchased estate & famous l’Hermitage vineyards. Aromas of rich red fruits and elegant spice. On the palate raspberry, cherry & currant flavors with notes of floral and oak. Firm tight tannins that ease up a bit with a decant, well balanced ending with spice and cedar. Very nice! — a year ago
Pretty, high toned aromatics, linear across the palate, crisp red fruit, firm tannin, a real match to roasted root veg and polenta. Lovely value. This has sinew and tension all at once with a solid core of mineral character. — 3 months ago
Nose is intense citrus, mostly lemon twist, wet granite slab, green apple, lime blossom and faint white florals.
Palate has lemon squeezed over pear, light creamy oak, dry crushed minerals and light Umami notes on the medium finish. Nice, balanced acidity.
This wine is absurdly young, ideally this is a wine to be opened with about 4-6 years of age, hold 2017 until about 2022+ — 10 months ago
2010 w pizza tonight. Complex but restrained and tight. — a year ago
Beautiful black/red fruit mix. Medium to full bodied with an amazing chocolate that cycles through in waves. Lightly spiced/herbs, each taste brings something different forward. The tannin is gorgeous - fine but well-defined. Great density across the lot but still light, fresh and balanced. Would love to have tried this over a few nights - but it was gone in a couple of hours. — 5 months ago
History of Chapoutier family dates back to early 19th century when current owner Michel Chapoutier’s great-, great-, great-grandfather Marius purchased estate & famous l’Hermitage vineyards. Deep Purple (with a little smoke on the water), 100% Grenache with aromas of dark fruit and complex exotic spice. Plum, berry & current flavors with nutty tobacco develops into sweet licorice. Tannins a bit grippy but will soften, lingering, balance ending with fruit and spice. Nice!
