Beautiful Gamay. Having this in NOLA with French/Cajun food. Fantastic. Very well balanced. — 22 days ago
Smells like burgundy and offers tart cherries and raspberry with a spicy note. pretty long. Really nice! — 2 months ago
Dismissed by many as too jammy or too ripe, I’ve always thought this is the fun bottling. This ‘21 is no exception. Beneath the slightly over extracted ripe dark fruits lies quite complex aromas and flavors of figs, sweet spices, dark chocolate, smoke meat, and hint of balsamic. Rich palate but not overbearing. In a good vintage like ‘21, this can benefit for 5-8 years of bottle age.
My guilty pleasure. — 4 days ago
Rich jammy flavor. Good finish. I really enjoyed this wine. Very good value for the price. — 10 hours ago
Good fruit, smooth tannins….this wine is drinking well and has some life left — 23 days ago
The 2020 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is well-defined on the nose with joyful brambly red fruit laced with crushed stone, certainly one of the more mineral-driven wines from the famed closed wall. There is an almost crystalline quality here. The palate is medium-bodied with a sense of strictness, fresh and quite sapid, not powerful yet taut, and has a finish that makes you want another sip. This is a 2020 that surpassed expectations. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, October 2024)
