Les Vaucrains Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2020

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of 90 minutes. The wine pours, a deep, ruby color with a dark but transparent core; medium viscosity, with very light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is youthful with notes of ripe red and some black fruits: raspberry, strawberry, blackberry, red flowers, licorice, warm, spices, and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. To palate, better after 2030 and through 2045. — a month ago

Bourgogne Pinot Blanc 2020

The 2020 Bourgogne Blanc from Jérôme Chezeaux is a bit unusual in that it’s primarily old-vine Pinot Blanc (about 3/4) with the balance being Chardonnay. As one can imagine, not much of this is made. The wine pours a light golden color with medium viscosity. No signs of particles or gas. On the nose, aromas of stone and tropical fruit: peaches, pineapple, lemon, tangerine, meringue and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. The notes from the nose are confirmed. Finish is long, silky and has a good spine of limestone-like minerals. This was universally enjoyed by everyone at the table and finished way too fast. Drink now but could age for a few years with ease. — 2 years ago
