I almost went to this dinner but they couldn’t tell me the menu. Important as I have some food allergies. I also asked about what they were pouring and they could not answer that either. For nearly $600 a person, I needed to know. Looks like a great dinner though.

x good year to be obsessed about...standout wines of the night were the 91 Volcanic Hill and the 2001 Gravelly Meadows. Really wanted to like the 1990 Lake(I have not tried Lake before), but it seemed a little light with a sharp finish. The 91 Volcanic Hill was singing with expressive notes of dark cherry, cedar, graphite, peppery and a nice long finish.

x too bad, it would have been nice to meet you. They had a nice group of people at the event with plenty of pours of wine. Hope they had a late night party cause I'm sure the 20 of us did not finish a 1.5L,3L,5L,3L of wine. Cheers!

Chappellet

Pritchard Hill Estate Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

1 hour decant(decent fine /cloudy sediment). A striking dark garnet with some bricking. On the nose: subdued notes of dark fruit, currants, herbaceous, forest floor, worn leather, coffee grounds, slight menthol. Taste: smooth, slightly creamy, mouthcoating wine with black fruit, cedar, minerals, dark chocolate, earth, and a spiced graphite long finish with just a touch of heat. YUM! — 15 days ago

Grosset

Polish Hill Clare Valley Riesling 2013

Mid yellow in colour. Musky notes with a little talc - white and yellow flowers. On the palate lovely ripe peach flavours. Incredible flavour intensity. Irresistible. Low acid. Definitely one of Australia’s best dry Rieslings. No notes of TDN. Have the last one in a year or two. See previous Delectable note 6 years ago in June 2018 when it was carrying more citric acid. — a month ago

@Bob McDonald, yes it is. Gaia isn’t tho. It’s a real shame because there’s been a pull-back on Aussie wines in the U.S. Over 20 years ago, the market was flooded with Aussie wines, many sub par. Now Aussie wines occupy a small space on the shelves over here.
