Excited to try this 2013!. A dark inky purple color while the nose takes you in with aromas of dark cherry-cassis, dark chocolate, subtle mint and touch of meat and sweet cinnamon sugar. Oh my! — creamy, luscious and a full body elegant wine. Blackberry-cherry fruit stand out with deepening tastes of chocolate espresso, bacon fat, pepper spice and cinnamon adding to its long finish. Parish Brewing Company

Braincake Double India Pale Ale

Parish Brewing Braincake DIPA! White grapefruit color with bubble striation, forming a yellow-tinted, white froth that dissipates rapidly to spitbug spots atop a cumulus cloudscape. Big nose of fresh juices; lemon, orange, grapefruit, and tangerine with a lime zest. There is a sense of rainbow sorbet to the whole. Piths of the aforementioned play background, while lemon crystallizes tantalizingly. Kumquat and guava swim in a palatable pudding of pineapple-tangerine, sporting defensive spikes of lemon essence filled with venomous grapefruit oils, somehow rooted on tangy malts. There is an exquisite balance at play, salivation and wicking churning up impossible combinations that seem citric, minerally, and soft in a melodic interplay. This one is really milking my fangs in the best of ways. .

Concrete Beach Brewery

Sola IPA

Just the right beer for South Florida; bright with the slightest alpenglow, thick cumulus suds, with aspirational lacing like angel wings. Tropical start of sweet grapefruit and diced, dried pineapple, lemon zest, gooseberry, pear, papaya and mango aromas. Zippy lime, salted lemon, kaffir lime leaves, carrot-squash purée, lemongrass and tangerine pith. There is a sweet, ripe note running the breadth of this one, feels like paradise. — 7 years ago

Next Of Kyn No 14 Cumulus Vineyard Syrah Blend

Decanted for 8+ hours, tried at 4 different times. Tasted like church wine on first pop which had me afraid, but a slightly less divine intervention would ensue. Absolutely mouth filling, slightly port wine, I’m in the minority these days that loves a high alcohol wine but this checked a lot of boxes. Strawberry compote and bacon with a heavy mouthfeel. Can’t afford these often but once in a while on Christmas is a nice treat. Probably could hold for 10-15-20 years. — a year ago

Cumulus Vineyard No. 8 Syrah Blend

2014, Next of Kyn Rhone Blend. Color - a deep purple crimson. Black cherry sandalwood aroma hits the nose with some floral and spice notes lingering with hints of chocolate spearmint, and ground meat. Wow on the taste! Luscious full body — dark plumb and and deep raspberry flavors fill the pallet following with tastes of leather, orange peel, cedar tea and mocha. Long finish and a tannic punch, but a nice balance wine 3 hour decant —could continue to open up throughout the evening. Looking forward to see how the flavors may change or resolve into something new. — 5 years ago

Entre Chien et Loup White Blend 2015

The 2015 Entre Chien et Loup is a stunning blend of 44% Chardonnay, 40% Roussanne, 8% Petit Manseng and 8% Viognier that was sourced from the Bien Nacido Vineyard, the Cumulus (Estate) Vineyard and as well as the Eleven Confessions (Estate) Vineyard. The silky texture and unctuous quality of the wine really impressed. Despite having serious weight, the tension of the wine really sings, as a bright beam of salinity races through the core of the wine. A knockout at this stage, I can see this beautiful wine cellaring well for at least another five to seven years. Drink 2019-2026- 95 — 7 years ago

Touriga Nacional 2015

Only have 1 bottle and could not wait any longer to try his first vintage of this Portugal grape from his Cumulus vineyard.

2 hour decant(some fine/cloudy sediment). A remarkable dark purplish garnet color. On the nose: dark fruit, smoke, new leather, touch of menthol, cedar. Taste: velvety, layered, concentrated mouthcoating wine with blackberry, milk chocolate, spice, clove, cinnamon and a dark cherry licorice long finish. YUM! Still plenty of time to go..a supercharged Portugal red wine.
