Bright, distinct flavors. Opened a bit young. Classy burgundy. — 9 days ago
2012 vintage. Opened and decanted. Tasted 45 mins after decanting. Medium-heavy body with tremendous power. Nose not giving up much at that point other than nebulous, dark fruits. Flavors of spearmint, watercress, rhubarb and ash. Needed at least another hour of lounge time in the decanter to unfurl those wings somewhat but three hours woulda been better. Two bottles left so will opt for a 6 hr decant next viz if possible. 12.25.24. — a month ago
This was singing! Outstanding village wine with lots of cherry, spice, earth, mineral & violet — 8 hours ago
The 2019 JF Mugnier Chambolle after an aerator and one hour decant was initially a bit stemmy but after a couple of hours was excellent. Needs another 5 years I imagine — 6 days ago
Deep ruby red. Matured raspberry. Liquor like. Red flower with vanilla. Quite elegant. Like ART. Earthy. Spiciness. Acidity. 19 @, Fred, 241220 — 2 months ago

At the highly regarded “Somoza” restaurant in Niseko. The food was amazing - this wine overpriced at 47,000 Yen - $470 AUD for a Village wine. Quite a simple wine and a little closed. Was looking for the Chambolle perfume which was not there yet. The palate was uncomplicated and straightforward. Strawberry and raspberry, red currant. Medium minus palate length. Moderate tannins. French wine tends to be overpriced in Japan. — 14 hours ago
