Château Les Carmes Haut Brion

Château Haut-Brion

Graves Red Bordeaux Blend 1959

From a bottle with a nice fill and solid cork. Tawny color. Dense. Exotic nose. Notes of plum, black cherries, old wood desk, tobacco, leather saddle, dark soil and a little menthol. Improved over 5 hours as it got more air. Long finish. A truly great aged bottle of HB. — 12 days ago

It’s impressive. Balanced but not an in your face ‘16 like a few others I’ve had. Give it about 10-15. Definitely buying more of this going forward. — 21 days ago

2000 Vintage is still spectacular. Earthy with hints of berries. A very smooth finish without aftertaste. — 11 days ago

Château La Mission Haut-Brion

Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

Delectable Wine
9.8

The 2015 La Mission Haut-Brion is blessed with an outstanding bouquet of brilliantly focused and delineated black fruit laced with graphite and cedar - pure class. The medium-bodied, harmonious palate delivers fine-grained tannin and impressive
depth. There is a slight savory element (just like the Haut-Brion) that infuses the middle, and brown spices and sage linger on the finish. This is a profound La Mission Haut-Brion that dares surpass Haut-Brion on this showing. Tasted blind at the Southwold 2015 Bordeaux tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, July 2019)
