Chateau Latour-Martillac

Pessac-Leognan Red Bordeaux Blend 2022

First pour had teeth; it needed 2 hours to calm down, and probably would benefit from several more hours. Astringent and bitter up front, with blackberry, sour cherry, licorice, stone, and orange peel. Will adjust my note on day 2.

Domaine de Chevalier

Pessac-Léognan Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend 2021

Everything a white Bordeaux should be. extremely intense nose, feels oily before you taste it, spiced apples, vanilla, candied cedar, orange oil, lanolin. A tingling spicing sensation hits on the palate, followed by waves of citrus oil in a long finish, combining citrus both, bergamot and woodsy notes. It will balance out further with time, but it’s quite the experience already — a day ago

Château Malartic-Lagravière

Grand Cru Classés de Graves Pessac-Léognan Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend 2022

Château Malartic-Lagravière – 2022
Grand Cru Classé – Pessac-Léognan, Bordeaux, France 🇫🇷

Overview
A jewel of Graves, this Grand Cru Classé de Graves estate is owned by the Bonnie family and consistently delivers wines of depth and precision. The 2022 vintage was marked by a hot, dry summer, yet the gravelly soils of Pessac-Léognan preserved freshness, giving balance to the ripeness. This V.22 blend features Cabernet Sauvignon 53%, Merlot 43%, Cabernet Franc 1.5%, and Petit Verdot 2.5%.

Aromas & Flavors
Deep layers of blackcurrant, ripe plum, and blackberry, with notes of graphite, smoke, and cedar. Subtle accents of spice and cocoa add elegance.

Mouthfeel
Multi-layered and structured, with a perfect balance of ripe fruit, freshness, and polished tannins. Full-bodied yet graceful, this wine already shows harmony, but its true depth will unfold with a few years of patience.

Food Pairings
Roast duck with black cherry reduction, grilled ribeye, venison, mushroom and truffle pasta, chargrilled lamb burgers, Comté, aged Cheddar cheese.

Verdict
A serious, cellar-worthy Pessac-Léognan. Concentrated and elegant, it’s very approachable in youth, (had it on Oct 23-2025, it was outstanding!), but destined to hit peak stride around 2027 and beyond as a full extend of its brilliancy, rewarding the wait with even greater complexity. Cheers!

Château La Mission Haut-Brion

Pessac-Léognan Cru Classe des Graves Red Bordeaux Blend 1990

1990 vintage. Top shoulder fill. Nearly completely saturated cork. Durand used to open. Not decanted. Tasted 2 hours after opening. Light-medium body. WOTD just barely over the 1990 Château Margaux. More of a LMHB than Margaux fan so we'll call it a draw. Beautiful star anise nose and flavor component evident. Based on this sample, this could easily roll another 5-6 years before downshifting. 11.21.25. — 10 hours ago

Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion

Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 2019

This was quite pleasant. While a bit too young, this opened up to a lovely wine full of fitness and structure. Black olive and green pepper dominated this young wine with cassis and strong tannins id wait 5-7 uearsto try again. — 3 hours ago
