Century Cellars

Barbera d'Asti 2019

The origins of the Damilano family dates back to over a century ago, when Guiseppe Borgogno, the great-grandfather of the current owners, started to grow and make wine from his own grapes. Medium Ruby with aromas of fresh berry fruits and generous spice. On the palate this medium body wine shows flavors of juicy cherry and blackberry with notes of citrus and vanilla spice. Light tannin structure, lively acidity, medium ending with fruit finish. Nice value. Drink now, consistent, no aging benefit. — 2 months ago

Marchesi Antinori

Tignanello Toscana Super Tuscan Blend 2019

The Antinori family, one of the world's oldest and most distinguished wine producers, lived in Tuscany since the 14th century. Blend of 80% Sangiovese, 15% Cab Sauv & 5% Cab Franc, less maceration than prior vintages. Deep Ruby, aromas of black berry fruit aromas with herb, mint and sweet spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry and cherry with cacao, vanilla and tobacco spice. Fine tannins, long finish, well balanced, ending with oak, juicy fruit and earthy mineral tones. Very Nice! — 5 months ago

Bodegas Muga

Reserva Unfiltered Rioja Tempranillo Blend 1999

I hade the 2001 Selección Especial a couple months back at this same restaurant but this one is even better. Holds up very nice for such a mature wine. Berries, dried orange peal, christmas cake, coffee, olives, potting soils, herbs. This bottle was kept i a cool 12th century medieval cellar for almost 20 years, that and some extra magic. At a very nice peak atm. — a year ago

Marcenasco Barolo Nebbiolo 2017

Located halfway up the hill dominating principal valley of Barolo, lined by vineyards, lies a precious 15th century Abbey of Annunziata. Medium Ruby with complex aromas of berry fruits and fresh floral scents. On the palate the palate dried cherry, tobacco, licorice, espresso and fresh herbs give this full-body wine grace and elegance. Soft fine dusty tannins on a well balanced frame makes this hot vintage wine approachable today as well as have room to run over the next decade. — 2 years ago

Always one of my favorite producers.

Guy Breton

P'tit Max Morgon Gamay 2021

Popped and poured; enjoyed over three days. Best on Day 3 but slayed from Day 1. The 2021 “P’tit Max” sources fruit from Guy Breton’s oldest vines in Les Charmes; some nearing a century old. It can often be one of the harder expressions from the Gang of Four to find. The wine pours a pale ruby color with a slightly hazy, transparent core and a watery rim. Medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, so fresh! Almost like a spring rain shower. The fruit is so beautiful: strawberry, watermelon, kiwi, red flowers mixed with some anise and wet asphalt. On the palate, winsome structure with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and I want to spread it over toast. This is drinking so well in its youth but this undoubtedly has a long life ahead. If anyone has multiples, I would recommend enjoying one now and cellaring other bottles to be enjoyed over the next 15+ years. — 2 months ago

Château Pontet-Canet

Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 1999

Black cherry and plum tart emerging through aromas of violets dotting brown breads, shiitake and black oak. Cinnamon, cedar and clove coalesce. Raspberry reduction with currants. Hints of mints. Tart cherry palate brings cherry reduction and black currants, tons of dark cedar wrapped cigar, tart blackberry, peppercorn and cinnamon stick. Green notes suggest this is still young and half-blossomed despite the quarter century. Grainy tannins, though rounded.

Château de la Louvière

Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 2000

Nice 👍🏼
Dark Web info

Château La Louvière has many fascinating facets. The sumptuous architecture of the château building dates from the late 18th century, but winegrowing here goes back more than 700 years. The first vines were planted circa 1310, although modern winemaking dates from the 17th century and was handed down by able monks from the Carthusian monastery in Bordeaux, who had acquired considerable talent as viticulturists and winemakers. The people who produce the wine in the 21st century have inherited these time-honoured methods, adding just the right amount of innovation and modernity to make the utmost of the outstanding terroir. La Louvière's red wine has a dark colour and an elegant bouquet with delicate hints of oak...
