Very earthy, mushrooms, some dried flowers and fruit. Was recommended by the producer to let it age for at least 4 more years… we were flying back from Paris with a 5 hour layover in DFW where it was 96F… wasn’t risking it so we opened it before coming home. Fun wine was better on day 2 opened up a bit more. — 3 months ago

Decanted in the glass for a few hours after opening. Very fresh with raspberry, strawberry, spice and nice acid. The next day we finished the bottle and it really opens up with dark fruits and a velvety rush mouth feel. — 7 days ago

Well past it’s prim, which is no surprise. 2012 was when they changed their style to garner the favor of certain critics unfortunately. Wagner was definitely not using as much Mega Purple in 12 but it comes through now. Last time I had this about 4 years ago it was much better but still nothing to write home about. — 25 days ago
