Drank on Xmas Day 2024 in Valencia.
Deep red with purple rim. Leather and spices on the nose. Summer berries on the mouth. Wonderful wine. — a month ago
Medium-dark color with some bricking, this is more backward and less evolved than the 1990 side-by-side, showing dark fruits, some Brett, but some tannic structure as well, lacks that sweet American note of the 1990, long, lingering finish, and I’d guess another 3-5 years of further improvement.
I really adore these early Pesquera Crianza (the regular cuvée, the Gran Reserva was always too much of an oak show for my palate), a wonderful find a few weeks ago while doing some cellar rearranging!! — 11 days ago

This is a magnanimous wine and still in its youth. A non vintage blend of declared Gran Reserva vintages: 2008, 2010, and 2011. The color is still deep ruby with hits of garnet on the rim. The bouquet on the nose is strong and nuanced, layered; with notes of blackberry, cherry, plum, and additional notes of cigar box and old leather. The palate is even more extraordinary, it is very well integrated with fruit, tannins, and acidity. Velvety! Flavors of black currant, cherries and figs are savory and complimented by coffee, graphite and some anise. The finish is elegant, reminiscent of minerals. Cheers. — 2 months ago
Cork didn’t want to come out of this bottle, medium color with some bricking, lovely sweet American oak aromatics with some faint Brett notes, soft tannins, excellent acidity and balance, long, lingering finish with some sweet fruit, excellent!! — 11 days ago
A nice wine!! A blend of mostly Tinta del País/Tempranillo (from old vineyards), with a splash of Garnacha and other grapes, including whites. Medium Ruby with aromas of ripe fresh fruits, herb and complex spice. On the palate flavors of cherry and blackberry with vanilla oak and cacao. Good balance, fine elegant tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit and earthy character. Very nice! — a month ago
A robust muscular but nicely balanced style that showed well after all the older leaner wines we’d been sharing. Fung likes it a lot. — 2 months ago

The goal was to only pour out half with the Coravin. This wine had other ideas. The whole Magilla came out and man was it nice. Perfectly blended and packing lots of power as well as finesse. So glad this is in its drinking window. Nice change of mix from Italian wines. — 2 days ago
