Ritchie Vineyard Chardonnay 2022

Been a while since I last opened one these bad boys. Still young but great bottle. Tons of precision. — 16 days ago

Extra Brut Vouvray Chenin Blanc

Dry but with stone fruit notes that imply sweetness. High acidity. And the fizz. Refreshing. Delicious. I want more! — 4 months ago

UV-SL Vineyard Pinot Noir 2015

Pop and pour. A splendid dark ruby red color with some bricking. On the nose: dark cherry, currants, orange rind, new leather, dried herbs, floral. Taste: rich, elegant, brooding mouthcoating wine with dark slightly sour cherry, dusty earth, minerals, clove, plum, baking spice, and a long finish. YUM! — a month ago

La Mariole Vieilles Vignes Red Blend 2019

So, a French Languedoc old vine Carignan from 100+-year-old vines (12.5% ABV) in Corbieres, shows classic southern French garrigue, sage and rosemary I smell, complex yet much lighter on the palate, these old vine Carignan tonight are both quite fine, though I will say that if you tried these blind side-by-side, it wouldn’t be difficult to identify the Old World vs. New World versions. — 2 months ago

@Dave, it was, I marginally preferred the Liocco tonight, my wife the La Mariole. Interesting to me was that the CA wine was totally clean, zero sediment, while the French wine had a fair crust on the side of the bottle. Both were quite enjoyable, and if my way better half was doing the ratings, the French wine (Vin de Table, BTW, not Corbieres) would have been 3 points better than the Lioco!
