Raina

Campo di Colonnello Umbria Bianco Trebbiano Spoletino 2021

Perhaps the more focused wine from Raina which is a family natural winery that doesn't forget the tradition. Only little sulphites used in the whole process(just before bottling), nothing else added.
6 days maceration, indigenous yeast and 6 months on the lees in stainless steel.
Result is orangy with vivid mineral that leads the sip. It doesn't tire your palate, it's a little less than intriguing because goes down too quickly.
It's long too
Excellent price point is a plus
I reckon this is a very good effort
A little bottle age would help too i guess

Marchesi Antinori

San Giovanni della Sala Orviéto Classico Superiore Grechetto Blend 2018

Marchesi Antinori ‘San Giovanni della Sala’ Orvieto Classico Superiore 2018: Medium-light bodied. Medium intense aromas. Lively acidity with a clean, fresh & fruity taste. Citrus, pear, white peach & subtle minerals on the palate. Long balanced finish. All in all, this was an excellent Grechetto white blend from the Umbria region of Italy and another Antinori winner with great QPR. Go find yourself a bottle & enjoy. You won’t regret it! Great day to all! Cheers🍷 — 10 days ago

Perticaia

Montefalco Sagrantino 2010

Comparing two 2010 Sagrantino di Montefalcos. Both opened for an hour first. I thought the Adanti was a bit softer and more aromatic at first. But the Perticaia had more structure, depth and complexity. Decanted the Perticaia for dinner (only have 1 decanter) and it improved even more. — 7 days ago

Bussoletti Leonardo

Narni Bianco 2020

A deep Amarillo/ pale green hue, fresh hay & flowers, unripe mango on nose. Textured & unctuous on palate, with more fresh florals & pale fruits on palate. This is an exciting wine from an exciting importer, at an exciting price- under 14$. Umbrian good, via Jan D’Amore. — 22 days ago

Adanti

Arquata Sagrantino di Montefalco 2010

Comparing two 2010 Sagrantino di Montefalcos. Both opened for an hour first. I thought the Adanti was a bit softer and more aromatic at first. But the Perticaia had more structure, depth and complexity. Decanted the Perticaia for dinner (only have one decanter) and it improved even more. In the past I thought the Adanti had quite a tannic punch. That has faded over the 3 years since I last opened one. — 7 days ago
