Super mineral nose with discreet framing oak. Lemon flesh. Some rainer cherries. Saline and iodine. Subtle yet focused and incredibly complex nose. Such nice earth and mineral tones. Smells like Burgundy of yesteryear. Palate is so lean, salty and concentrated with a lingering hint of complex sweetness from the wood on the incredibly persistent finish. So juicy and leaning on the palate and just laser focused. So long. This has much more to give and has closed down a bit since I tasted it last. But a stunner. I’ll be back as it airs.
After 4 hours this is a wonder and has opened beautifully. Clear barely ripe granny smith apple, stunning mineral breadth and some white flowers. Palate is so juicy and saline. Luscious. It’s loosened up quite a bit. Long, structured finish. Super juicy. Fantastic. — 13 days ago
Huge and expansive nose. Ripe apricot and peach and very confectionary. Grapefruit, citrus, tangerine, tangelo and so much more. An amalgam of stunning fruit on a mineral background. Hugely expressive minerality and just a stunningly mineral nose. Smells like a rock quarry. Awesome. The nose is so deep. Kaleidoscopic and fractal like. Palate is young and tangy with enormous structure but it’s delicate and a little bit hidden. Not that integrated at all but all the parts are there. Incredible fruit sapidity on the finish. Huge mineral/citrus inner mouth aromas. Juicy and mineral but man is this backwards. The finish is super long and the wine is crazy concentrated but massively backwards. I’ll be back. — 20 days ago
N: Very grassy, stony, a hint of pineapple coming through.Mineral, almost the beachyness* of Chablis or…Manzanilla.
P: Subdued Green apple, crunchy, some salt, Interesting wood on the palate from combination of French & Oregonian oak.
It’s there, but not interfering. No but-tah.

Wow. Martin’s signature wine in my opinion. Huge, complex and serene nose. So elegant and expansive. Airy, layered and ethereal. Stunning. 9.8 nose. Just has that extra. Confectionery. Grapefruit. Apricot. Wow. Smells like Riesling grown in chevalier montrachet. One of the most beautiful noses on a young Müllen ever. Genius. It’s so lifted, layered, complex and ethereal. Unreal minerality. Wow that palate is about as pure, elegant and lithely structured as one can imagine. Such structure on the mid and the finish. Amazing concentration and density. Round and full of citrus pith, grapefruit, apricot and peach skin and minor peach flesh. Finish keeps going and going. Astonishing length. Wow. This will be better in 10 years.
On day 2 this is so refined and so brilliant. One of the best TH Sp Trockens ever. The complexity and completeness is just unreal. 9.7 to 9.8 overnight and one of the wines of the vintage. — 20 days ago

Nose is melon. Some mineral. White flowers.
Palate is green apple. Nice acidic tang. Very, very delicious.
Finish is so elegant. Mineral Really long and fresh and juicy.
Let’s see where this goes.
Day 2 is much better. Much Better density. Some elegant richness.

N: lots of brown spice, Rhubarb, walks in the woods over fall leaves, brown sugar, a bit of pepper. You could huff this a longgg time.
P: Luscious going in, Big bright cherries and mineral,sapid, really sticky but not sweet, nice acidity, tuck some away if ya got.,Should be an ager. Better on day 2, more fruits, less cinnamon on the nose.

Vintage 2016 | This wine developed itself fine with a few years cellar. Expressive cassis, decanted three hours, afterwards very good drinking with a good structure. Really good Chardonnay that doesn't go straight down the trodden Chardonnay path. In fact, my take is Koosah has more in common with something like Gruner. Subtle, delicate, distinct, but spicy.
