Marquis De Vingeanne

Domaine Marquis d'Angerville

Santenots Meursault 1er Cru Chardonnay

Nez discret qui s'ouvre peu à peu par contre pour devenir très beau avec du temps dans le verre, une bouche fine et élégante, assez ronde mais savoureuse malgré une acidité un peu en retrait. 90-91

Discrete nose at first that opens up nicely with time, the palate is classy and fairly elegant, despite a backwards acidity, still delicious.

Clos des Ducs Monopole Volnay 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2011

Airy, almost weightless, yet many aromas and flavors. Pronounced Floral, herbal nose with green and spice hints, clean red fruit palate with raspberry, some cherry, a mineral spine, long finish. Young, all primary, no earth. Will be interesting to see if this adds volume, though for me, I’m very good with where this sits today. — a month ago

Domaine du Pélican Arbois Savagnin Ouillé 2016

Great acid but creamy. Kerosene, wild flowers, ripe stone fruit. Killer. Drinks like 1er Cru Burgundy. — 20 days ago

Champans Volnay 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2014

Love this wine. Red fruits, dark cherry. Wet stone. Very round on the finish. More open than the bottle I popped 6 months ago, but holding more back..plenty of development to come. — 14 days ago

Margaux Merlot Blend 2017

Wine from Margaux appellation for less than $30.00...not bad even if this is a second wine. — 24 days ago

Château Marquis d'Alesme

Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 2000

Opening a 2000 after 21 years in bottle is an unknown. The is an opaque deep red. Lots of “forest floor “ and herbal aromas, typical for an older wine. Medium finish. On second day, blackberry flavors predominate. Complex wine. — 10 days ago

Trois Cépages Arbois Pinot Noir Trousseau Poulsard 2014

Alder Yarrow

What happens when one of Burgundy’s top producers (the Marquis d’Angerville) buys land in the Jura and goes all-in on making wine there? In a word, Deliciousness. This is one of the early efforts (2nd vintage), which, frankly was a bit shrill in its youth. But it is mellowing into beautifully floral and crunchy red berries and herbs with just a touch of caramel at this point in its evolution. I have a few more bottles of this vintage and look forward to watching it evolve further. A blend of Pinot Noir, Trousseau, and Poulsard. — a month ago
