Simply one of the best bottles I’ve had in a long time. We first had this wine on our honeymoon in rioja - with lamb, which we held to tonight on a beautiful night for grilling.
Opened 4 hours in advance, decanted for 1.5 hours. Still quite primary. Nose leaps from the glass - very delicious. Acid isn’t huge, but the fruit and earth with a bit of leather is great. And the mouthfeel is deep and persistent even without the level of acid I’d expect. Really enjoyable. — a month ago
Ruby in color with a wide cloudy reddish rim.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate with nice complexity.
Showing red and black fruits with oak, licorice, eucalyptus, herbs, mediterranean spices, coffee, earth and black pepper.
Nice tangy finish with soft tannins and tangy cranberries.
This is a very tasty 7-year-old Rioja Reserva. Elegant and soft.
Showing nice complexity at this point, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.
Easy drinking and a good food wine.
I had the 2009 a few years ago, and loved it. This one just needs more time in the bottle to mature properly.

This recent release of this Rioja Reserva is drinking very nicely now.
A good quality wine. Easy drinking, and a good food wine that I paired with dried meats and crackers.
This 11 year old feels so very young still, and will continue to age nicely in the next 25 years.
Needs time to open up properly, but good right out of the bottle too.
A blend of 70% Tempranillo with Garnacha, Graciano and Mazuelo. Aged for 6 years in used American oak barrels.
13% alcohol by volume.

Primarily Tempranillo with a bit of Graciano blended in. Bright dark garnet color with a bit of ruby around the rim. Very ripe dark fruit (plums and figs) on the nose with bright hints of vanilla. Just a hint of dried rose petals and smoke. Palate is also full of ripe black currants and figs with hints of dark chocolate, black tea and coconut. Nice spicy (baking) finish. Bright acidity and firm/chewy tannins. Traditional Rioja. Excellent quality for the price. Thanks for sharing, Kase! — 14 days ago
