La Ferme des Sept Lunes Syrah 2019

We’ve had serious bottle variation with this producer but decided to take a chance. Fresh & juicy, beautiful fruit, tad reductive, big acidity, lovely with homemade pork rillettes. — 2 days ago

Saint-Joseph Syrah 2018

An absolutely wonderful St Joseph. Decanted 8+ hours which I’d recommend at this point. Very glad I have some more in storage to try in a few years. Inky dark, excellent dark fruit with some great olive / earth / pepper notes, great mouth feel, nice long finish, all comes together very well. Delicious. — 5 days ago

Bonnie Jean Vineyard Pinot Noir 2017

Color of different shades of purple, with blue and gray tone on the rim. Quite dark considering she is a Pinot Noir. Nose of nice dried strawberry, fragrant aldehyde, prune, a bit tobacco leaves. The nose keep coming. Taste follows the nose with addition of ample acidity and refined sweetness, dark fruits like cherry and plums, a tiny bit black pepper, ripe grapes, a bit oak, and refreshing zest. Aftertaste is long and clean. Packed with flavors. — 18 days ago

Domaine Jean-Louis Chave

Hermitage Syrah 1997

Mostly scarlet in color, translucent and regal. Deep nose. Notes of black cherry, blueberries, dried cranberries, some cool slate stone and some pepper. Rich and long in the mouth. Tannins fully resolved and integrated. Really nice for the vintage. In a great drinking window. — 11 days ago

Montagny 1er Cru Chardonnay 2017

Really good. 2017 for white burgundy is so tasty. Stone fruits, acacia flowers with a hint of honey on the finish. — 15 hours ago

Côte du Py Morgon Gamay 2019

Part 2 of Columbia County wknd: closed Beaujo, quite refined but this needs a good decant or some time. Black cherries, a plum- ier note. Rather compact body & closed on the nose. Still, nicely accompanied Grilled steelhead trout on cedar planks. I suspect this is one Morgon that needs nurturing. Never had this producer before, to the amazement of the wine store guy. — 5 days ago
