A rock star of a wine. Just stunning. Nose is all red and black cherries and just so layered and hedonistic. 2022 is soooo good right now. Juicy and dense with serious structure and unreal black cherry fruit tempered by such fierce minerality. But it’s all so elegant. Insane freshness and purity. This is young but the explosiveness, concentration and tiny berry fruit intensity are top notch here. I know my score will rise. Insanely long finish. All class. — 17 hours ago

One of the best Girard 23’s. First time since April and it’s just as I remember. What a wine. Lush, giving cherry nose that just exudes purity and generousness. So inviting. Killer nose that is deep and resonant. Unreal dark red cherries that border on black. Such purity. Just stunning. Nose is airy and so deep. Sick. Better aromas than 19 Narbantons. Blueberry, flowers, so lush, so deep. Just wonderful. 9.6 nose. Palate has insane energy and just absurd fruit. Sapid, energetic and so concentrated. Wow this is so good. The depth is off the charts and the tannins cut like a saber but remain velvety and sweet. What a wine. Stunning depth and freshness and red/blue/black fruits. My god the tannins on 23 Girards are stunning. This is a remarkable year for Girard. Unreal wine. — 9 months ago

22’s are having a moment now. Ripping their shirts off like a WWF wrestler. Man the fruit on the nose is pungent. Dark cherry, black cherry, black plum skin, just amazing. And classic Girard sous bois. Mint, tree bark and more. Palate is decadent and juicy with lovely amplitude and richness but also sappy density and purity. Another epic Fichots from Girard. Deep deep mid to late season cherry and glorious spice. Wow the fruit in 22 is so aromatically expressive at the moment. Just gorgeous. Stunning palate with deep deep fruit but also those fierce Fichot tannins. Juicy, silky and sweet but structured and epic. Wow the tannins. This needs mega air but this is a monumental Fichots. Tasting today and still a beast but has that absurd 22 fruit. I’d wait a decade at least. — 8 months ago
