Absolutely incredible. Pears and apples, stone and earth. Finishes with a deep buttery ending. Just…wow. — 7 days ago
2019 is also good. Trees, strawberry, plum, a bit earthy, deep. 2019 @1520, xuaduo, 220729-220802 — 15 days ago
Spectacular. Still tightly coiled but perfect balance of oak, lemon and steely mineral. Finishes with a yeasty twist that balances the vibrant citrus and slate. Already drinking well but will improve from here. — 14 days ago
‘17 In the zone! Such delicate winemaking. Not overly extracted but still has some depth and power. I forgot how much I enjoy Lefarge. Beautiful. — 5 days ago
Very impressive at this pricepoint. Proper Sancerre, ie mineral and linear but with nice balance of zesty just ripe tropical fruit. V warm vintages of late have destroyed linearity in some Sancerres for me but this was bang on. Strong buy. — 13 days ago
Tasting group 7/24/22. Rosemary Cakebread's house. My 2nd, group 6th. Gold color. Lots of ML, butter. Beeswax, Honey. Botrytis. Broad. Bigger than others in tasting. Firm acidity. — 14 days ago
Sipping Fine Wine
Mousset family has managed Clos Saint Michel for more than 6 decades, in Southern Rhône they have been active in wine for Much longer. Deep Ruby with aromas of red fruits, herb and spicy notes, blend of 40% Grenache and 30% each Mourvèdre and Syrah, all aged in older barrels. On the palate flavors of black cherry and ripe blackberry with cigar box and black pepper spice. Big firm tannins, nicely integrated, good balanced, long finish with solid ending. — 12 days ago
