Mémoire de Vignes Champagne Pinot Noir 2014

Pop and pour, but notes from 2 hrs open. This taste comes from the last sip in the btl...what a hit tonight. On the nose: ripe canteloupe, salt, soft savory herbs, amazing wife offered to give me what was left in my glass, but said she'd take it if I didn't want it... Fantastic acidity, but melon, melon rind, perfect density. Better than the '12 or '13? Reminds me a touch of the '11, which was more savory. Yum. — 8 days ago

Cuvée Reserve Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhône Blend 2012

Dark ruby in color with a wide ruby rim.

Strong nose of black currants, cherries, sweet raspberries, tobacco, peppercorn, chocolates, graphite, dark coffee, vinaigrette, vanilla, oak, light mold, black tea, bitter herbs and spices.

Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and nice legs.

Dry on the palate with black currants, bell pepper, cherries, oak, vanilla, cloves, spices, smoke, graphite, tobacco leaf, bitter herbs, black tea, coffee, river rocks and black pepper.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cranberries..

This is a great GSM blend from Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Showing great complexity and mouthfeel.

This 9 year old needs 2 hours to open up properly, and wasn't good right out of the bottle. I had this vintage six years ago, and boy did it change. Drinking very nicely now. Delicious actually.

Good by itself or with food. I paired it with a Charcuterie board of meats, cheeses, pickled vegetables and fresh grapes.

A blend of 40% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 30% Mourvedre.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

93 points.

$50 (current vintage).

Les Coteaux Cornas Syrah 2003

Real Sleeper - figured this was going to be tired & over the hill, but it was glorious! Needed 90 minutes to really open up but then it unfurled with pure black & blue fruits interspersed w/tar, leather, minerals, florals, meat & spice all wrapped in finely grained tannins wrapped in velvet. This was a product of the insanely hot 03 vintage, but this is an absolute complete wine - a gem. — 15 days ago

Grands Epenots Pommard 1er Cru Pinot Noir 1999

Violets, blackberry, forest floor, still some grippy tannin. This is old school and fairly extracted, but drinking well 👍 — 14 days ago

Clos du Ferré Vieilles Vignes Muscadet de Sèvre-et-Maine Sur Lie 2019

Superb nose of citrus (lemon, yuzu, even grapefruit) and a bit chalk. This is very inviting! The palate is very well made, with a wonderful fruity note all along, an almost sweet mouthfeel, and a long finish with that citrusy note which lasts a long while. It paired very well with a plate of pasta alla vongole and with some well aged French cheeses. — 6 days ago

When we are on the bassin d'arcachon, this is a go to meal. I should have added that we picked the vongole ourselves, knee-deep in the mud 😂 those little pleasures...

Envol Cheverny Gamay Blend 2018

PN Gamay Blend #1: A nice biodynamic juice that honours the pinot noir, (by bringing a classy mouth) and the gamay, generous and flowery. The dress is dark but translucent. Open nose, very fruity. In the mouth the material is velvety, combining freshness and roundness, in a balance that makes this wine remarkable in its price range. Nice entry cuvée by an interesting domain of Loire region.
