Delectable - this was the Viognier not the Nouveau Viognier which Is offered in the database. Pale lemon - bright and clean. Aromatics of orange blossom with faint ginger notes. Medium weight with medium plus palate intensity. Again, a good winter white. A bit hot for a white at 14.5% ABV but it works when it’s cold. The wine was barrel fermented with a year on lees in French Oak which has been totally absorbed into the wine. An excellent new World Viognier. Have the last one in 2024. — a year ago
One of best wines this year - noir with complexity -
love the fruity jam like textures that remind me of a clonakilla Shiraz lovely wine . — 3 years ago
I am always looking for a good Australian Viognier. Well I have found another one. Up there with Yeringberg and Clonakilla for quality. Gorgeous floral nose followed by a rich plump palate with subtle spice. Lovely. — a month ago
See previous note from June 2019. Red florals, spice (cinnamon and nutmeg) and a little pepper. More Syrah than Shiraz if you know what I mean. The medium +bodied palate showing red and blue fruits with savoury spices. Clonakilla is very much more known for their stellar Shiraz/Viognier ( the best Cuvée of that blend in Australia). However this 100% Syrah is a wonderful expression. I’m considering the current release. Next bottle in a few years. — 5 months ago
xmas drinks. does not taste like shiraz. floral, mineral and herby but degrades after a while. quite smooth and complex — 2 years ago
Lighter in colour than I expected. Very fruity initial hit. Very pleasant and easy to drink. — 3 years ago
Another favourite Australian Red but this 2014 vintage not showing as well as it normally does. I put it down to the vintage. Aromatically it is spicy but subdued; digging deeper there is earth and clove with herbs. With time, meaty aromas emerge. Perhaps more time will reveal more and provide more depth on the palate. — 3 months ago
Quite fulsome and dense for a 15 year old Rhone - but it is Jaboulet La Chapelle. Probably opened too early - I only have one other. Ripe black fruits, some smoky notes, a touch of pepper. A little square sided on the full bodied palate. A Syrah with excellent potential but not worth the $417AUD I paid to be honest. One would be better off with 3 bottles of Clonakilla Shiraz/Viognier and some change in your pocket. — a year ago

See previous notes for this Cuvée - a Shiraz Viognier from the ACT made by Bryan Martin who is the winemaker at the nearby and famous Clonakilla, for Tim Kirk. Pepper and Spice with Charcuterie - in fact like a junior version of Clonakilla. Interestingly the large label has pencil images of charcuterie in a butcher’s shop. Also excellent QPR. My last bottle. — 9 days ago
