Beautiful, deep ruby red. I don't usually mention that a wine has legs because all wines have legs. However, this beauty has such a pleasant viscosity I'll just say it has long, sexy legs that take a while to form in the glass. Anyway, the nose shows cedar, tobacco, sage, bay leaf and various other interesting aromas. Flavors of raspberry and black cherry, flint, leather, and more cedar. Excellent balance between fruit, alc, tannin and acid, and a long finish. I really enjoyed this with dinner. — 5 days ago
Very good Grenache from Applegate Valley, Oregon. Cherry and lanolin aromas with spicy and floral notes, the nose reminds me of a Russian River Pinot noir. On the palate, it shows cherry, cranberry, and red apple, with mild tannins, a silky texture and med+ finish. Was excellent with Five Spice chicken, and sauteed greens sprinkled with Marash pepper flakes. This is not chunky or syrupy like many Grenaches (in my opinion); on the contrary, this pretty red is lithe and complex and interesting. — 16 days ago
An enjoyable Gamay, albeit more tart and, ironically, more grapey than I expected. Classic Gamay aromas of raspberry and wet stone are present, and there is huge, red fruit character, and a good finish. It did hold up well with hearty/spicy food, too.
Not bad for the first Willamette Gamay noir I have tried, and maybe the balance will improve with time. — 19 days ago
A really good Cava, especially when you consider the retail price ($12.99). Straw, golden apple, rosemary notes. Same on the palate, rich enough to mention it, huge finish, minerally, pretty, small, bubbles. I like it a lot, ya know, considering everything? — 10 days ago
Pretty, medium ruby color. Red floral and pepper notes punctuate aromas of fresh red berries. Bright and lively on the palate, with cherry, raspberry, rhubarb, and roses, with notes of wet granite and herbs. Tannins are very mild, and the texture is light but finishes well. Drinks like a Beaujolais. Very good value and great served slightly chilled with spicy food. — 17 days ago
