Third of the blind white wines at this quarter's S&E Wine Club, which for whites was Chardonnay vs Chenin Blanc. Thanks Claude and Carrie.

Very light pale yellow. A touch sweet on the nose with lots of acidic fruits like lemon, limes, and even a bit of green grapetiser. Medium acidity (6.5/10) and super light and fresh on the palate. Minimal if any oak, do not think there is any though. Lots of stone fruits, and green apples. Light bodied and medium finish. Drink till 2019.

A fresh and vibrant, 100% Chenin Blanc, that starts with aromas of white peach and pear with a tinge of creaminess. The pallate adds in citrus flavors of pomelo and lemon peel. Well balanced acidity and just a hint of honey helps round out a great wine. Paired deliciously with pan seared scallops accompanied with shallots and heirloom tomatoes. ($10) [11/29/2017]

Light gold in color, with green apple and crushed oyster shell on the nose, with tropical fruit, jasmine, and honey notes. Similar on the palate, with additional lychee and herbal characteristics. Mouthwatering acidity, medium-bodied, good finish, and a really good value.

Bought at Pine Orchard, 12/17, $12. Very peachy in flavor, lots of melon also. Liked the dryness, but not so much the flavor.

Sweeter than I expected for a "dry" chenin blanc. Very tasty with fish.
