Amazing subtle black cherry, allspice and soft tannin — 5 months ago
The 2019 Barolo Bricco Boschis is an absolutely gorgeous wine that needs plenty of air to open. Bright red-toned fruit, blood orange, rose petal, cinnamon, star anise and mint all grace this mid-weight, wonderfully expressive Barolo. It has been some years since I have tasted a Cavallotto Barolo with this kind of translucent old-school classicism. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, November 2023)

Medium deep ruby , garnet rim. Quite floral , touch of dark cherry, black tea , anis , menthol and mineral touches . On the palate darker fruit , dark cherry , blackberry, orange rind, Quite refreshing acidity , rounded but noticeable tannin . Long mineral finish . Elegant and refined , still young . Better still in 5 years and will hold well a further 8-10 — 3 months ago
Really a lovely langhe nebbiolo from a producer we respect deeply after walking the Bricco Boschis with him a couple years ago. Decanted for 3 hours which I definitely recommend at this time. A bit unresolved still in terms of tannins. But deeply aromatic with great dark fruit and acid. Probably a better pairing with a cut of meat vs pizza. Delicious. — 2 years ago
The 2017 Barolo Riserva Bricco Boschis Vigna San Giuseppe is redolent of dark fruits, leather, incense, tobacco, lavender and dried herbs. This strapping, muscular Barolo has a ton to offer. All it needs is to soften a bit, and whether or not that happens is something of an open question at this stage. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, November 2023)

Nice everyday wine from an older and less common grape. Better day 2. Aromatic with strawberries and candied cherries. Slightly tart on opening but smooth day 2. Raspberry, strawberry, clove and some mineral. Moderate finish. — 24 days ago
