Remarkable Langhe Nebbiolo from Cavalotto that would outshine most Barolos in terms of quality. To young but there is no denying of its inherent quality. Classical in its approach with a high concentration of red slightly tart fruit, roses, smoke, spice and stones with a slight volatile finish. High acidity and gum coating tannins dominate the palate, strong mid palate and a long finish. An impressive invitation to Cavalottos arsenal. From younger vines in the Barolo zone, 20-35 days submerged cap maceration with 15-18 months in Slavonian casks.

Really a lovely langhe nebbiolo from a producer we respect deeply after walking the Bricco Boschis with him a couple years ago. Decanted for 3 hours which I definitely recommend at this time. A bit unresolved still in terms of tannins. But deeply aromatic with great dark fruit and acid. Probably a better pairing with a cut of meat vs pizza. Delicious.

After our experiment with Giribaldi, the Sommelier recommend this one and . . . Pretty darn good! Cherry, with slight strawberry hint and I’m calling a bit of tar on the nose. Definitely fruit forward and getting better as the night wears on.

Just great, authentic and alive. There is very slight hint of over-polish.
