Clonal Selection Pinot Noir 2017

Picked this up on recommendation from wine shop while visiting my daughter in Chicago. The Barefoot stuff she had just wasn’t going to cut it. There is so much red fruit. Cherry, strawberry, pomegranate. Baking spices...cinnamon, cloves?? Even some earthiness starts to show after a bit. Had a glass then threw it in the fridge to chill for a bit. I think I have had PN from 4 different continents in the last 2 weeks. Aromatics are fantastic. This is so good. — 2 days ago

Stellenbosch Cabernet Franc 2017

The first time I tasted this I wasn’t too impressed. I was expecting a ripe #cabernetfranc from California in my mind. I just tasted it blind among other #cabernetblends and it was one of the best. Deep ruby color with pronounced aromas of black fruit with savoury meaty (Bolognesa, Beef Bourginon) flavors. High fine grained tannins. #southafrica #stellenbosch — 15 days ago

Duncan Savage

Western Cape Red Blend 2017

Clean, medium + intense, backhands at first but highly concentrated aromas that opens into a layered complexity with some air. A primary mix of red and black fresh fruit, raspberries, black plums, blueberries with a floral stroke of lavender over a very well defined savoury canvas of black olives, spice (juniper), wood (pine) and rocks.
Palate is dry with a medium + acidity. Tannins are high, but with a fruity and curved texture. Medium alcohol and a medium + body. Pronounced flavour intensity with characters of black fruit, spice, lavende that is evolving over a long finish.
Very good quality wine, still youthful but shows a very complex potential. With an evolving complexity and a high concentration. Still youthful, yet good balance with a intense fruit profile that carrress the tannins and a vibrant acidity that brings nerve to the wine. 9.3

Stellar Organics

Shiraz 2020

Lots of fruit flavor. One of the best organic wines we’ve had. Not too much tannin. Prior ratings weren’t great but we thought the 2020 was very good. — a day ago
