Pretty similar colour to the Bartolo , medium deep garnet core , slightly less terracotta at the rim. Porcini mushrooms , sous bois , dried meat , really quite complex. On the palate more mineral , but with a strong meaty , porcini mushroom note , then with blueberry , blackberry . Very fine but present tannins , lovely balanced acidity . Long and really refined . With time in the glass shows well , but will improve over the next 5 -8 years and continue on a further 10 at least — 18 days ago
At this stage Ferrando Carema White Label ‘16 blows away Produttori Barbaresco ‘16. Produttori is very ripe, and the alcohol is less in balance. The ‘16 normale does not really exhibit the freshness and elegance I associate with classic Barbaresco. Yes, the concentration and depth is impressive, and maybe at 10-20+ years the wine will achieve harmony. For now it exhibits more climate change character than the high tone energy desired. This is a Grey Market bottle purchased recently. I wonder if less than pristine storage and/or transit was an influence. I will compare notes with bottles purchased on release and via authorized Importer somewhere down the road. — 14 days ago
The colour has the evidence of a developing wine. Complex aromas of cherries, figs and a hint of leather. Notes of sour cherries, red plums, maraschino cherries and figs on the palate. Lovely acidity that cuts through the layers of drying fruit. It has the perfect balance between fresh and dry fruit for my taste right now. — 14 days ago
Reasonably deep garnet , terracotta rim . Lighter with more red fruits , slightly floral , spicy , really quite elegant. Long on the palate , good acidity , quite noticeable slightly rustic tannin. Red rose and red fruits on the palate . Good length . Drinking well and will continue to do so for the next 10 years or so. — 18 days ago

Medium ruby , quite wide but healthy rim. Lovely dried red fruits , cranberry , raspberry , touches of dried herbs . Quite mineral and serious also after a while . On the palate , more red fruits, touch of black tea , dried Provençal herbs , really vibrant acidity , quite ripe but fine and noticeable tannins . Very good length with a refreshing vibrant finish . This is drinking well now , especially with time in the glass , will probably still improve over the next 5 or so years and hold for a further 5-10. — 10 days ago
