On a hot almost-summer night this wine hits the spot! ☀️
It’s a Sauvignon Blanc from the Valle de Casablanca D.O. in Chile 🇨🇱 where the vines from which it hails receive cooling influences from the Pacific Ocean breezes, lending balance and preserving acidity. 🌊
It’s no wonder this wine is labeled EQ as in Equilibrio (the Spanish word for balance), because it offers a wonderful balance of ripe tropical fruit aromas and flavors with vibrant acidity and notable minerality. 🍍 🥭
The aromas and flavors are fresh, albeit ripe, generally tropical with passion fruit, guava, mango, underripe pineapple, also green apple, gooseberry, freshly cut grass, and wet slate.
It’s a perfect patio pairing and fun to explore the beauty of new world Sauvignon Blanc from this region.
It’s also a great value at $12.99. 👏👏👏👏👏
Matetic Vineyards, E.Q., Coastal Sauvignon Blanc, D.O. Valle de Casablanca, Viñedo Valle Hermoso, Chile. Vintage 2019. ABV 13.5%.

Pop and pour yesterday. I don't always drink grenache, but when I do...Yum. This is fantastically pure and solid grenache. Raspberry incense, wild strawberry coulis. Lovely acidity, good density, and a bright, tangy finish, with attenuated tannin. At peak, and excellent. — 19 hours ago
After having this a few times in the past month, I can confidently say this is my current favorite domestic Rosé. The price is right and it delivers a lot of pleasure each time. It can also age. This is the 2017 in magnum and it was singing after being open about an hour. — 5 days ago
Holy cow, what a home run! This my friends its the taste of terroir. Dense and muscular, with a focused minerality that is keeping the beat.
Despite its youth it is very expressive and not holding back on its complexity. François Cotat La Grande Côte, a marvelous piece and an act in the magic of wine.
Pronounced intense aromas with a layered depth Lemon juice, kiwi, boxwood, dandelions almost reaching towards honey with a prominent Limestone mineraliy that is keeping the beat.
High piercing acidiy that cuts through the smooth and ripe edges. Dense and athletic on the mid palate with a layered complexity, salty backbone as it expands before closing up in a long tightening finish. — a day ago
I really liked this. And I am a fan of the obscure charbono grape. Starts out tough and rough but interesting. With a lot of air (I tasted over a few days)... the tough dissipates but all the interesting bits linger. If you imagine what that label taste like... you got it. — 18 days ago
Color of light egg white, bubbly with a hint of green. Nose of nice ripe tropical fruits, like pineapple and banana, a bit spicy and acidic , a touch of mineral. Nose is nice. Taste is a nice balance of acidity, mineral, and tiny bit of sweetness, a bit more green apple, and a bit flowering note. Clean and enjoyable. Aftertaste is quite long with addition of zest, and warmth at the throat. Good summer blanc. — 19 days ago
I LOVE Alban wines. This is my first experience with their single vine Grenache. Wow was i impressed. Deep purple hew. Rich and luscious. Popping red fruit with a massive nose. I did open this earlier than i would normally, so the acidity level was high. Mouthfeel was full and left a 40 second finish. A few years in bottle this could easily get to 98-99 pts. — 14 days ago
