Love it. #parkerstyle pure #monastrell sensations. Agreed, completely #mediterranean thyme rosemary and cumin nose. Rich black berries and cherries with clove and dark chocolate nuances on the palate. Smooth ripe tannins. Long finish. #jumilla #spanishwines — 3 years ago
#listannegro #tenerife #suertedemarques #candio #spanishwines Hazy (not filtered) medium+ garnet, pronounced intensity aromas musk, sweat, geranium, resin and chimney ash along with bright fresh cherries and red currant or cranberry jam. Dry, medium+ acidity, medium smooth tannins and medium + alcohol. Medium+ body pronounced intensity flavors of cranberry, cedar chest, ash and cider. The finish is medium + and the wine can easily age for the next 3-5 years. Very good quality. Perhaps overpriced. Points for being original. Much better on the palate than in the nose. — 3 years ago
Day 3: Heavy mushrooms framed by sage and cedar, with chamomile and pork fat. There is persimmon, nutmeg, dried grapes, tar, dark raisin bread, tobacco leaf, and poppy seed. This thing was an unwieldy wooden baton on Saturday night; a real leather daddy. It has since opened into a lumberjack in a leather tunic felling a large birch near a meadow of scorched wildflower. He’s sweating, and lightly peppered. Grilled apple, eel skin, dried black currant, dried roses, rawhide, marinated plum, and a tart persistence that is neither graphite, or smoke, but something similar with a dry-rubbed saline-sweetness in the mix. Delicious! Took forever, and I knew it was a bad idea to open so young, but we did it! #callejo #riberadeldueronothing #riberadelduero #NoSpainNoGain #spanishwines #spanishwine #FelixCallejo #bigredwines — 2 years ago
Black raspberry, cinnamon dusted blackberries, shaved dark chocolate and chocolate mint behind a velvety curtain of suede and licorice perfumes. Rich, chewy dried blackberry, mushroom, hot, turned, black soil, Mexican coffee, black currant, cedar, cinnamon apple skins and licorice extract bolstered by firm and persistent tannins with iron shavings and grill debris. Lovely wine with a steady, burgeoning intensity and expansive depth! Classic Priorat! #priorat #valldellach #spanishwines #spanishwine #2010 #2010ftw — 3 years ago
Sweaty stallion, coffee rye, bakers chocolate and licorice nose. Blackberry reduction with cracked black pepper, tar, black toast, black currant, cigar ash, licorice, dark, unsweetened chocolate, dagga, chicory and raspberry liqueur. This coal mine runs deep. #LaMancha #spanishwines #dankdark — 3 years ago
Great example from the excellent 2005 harvest. A blend of 85% Tempranillo / 15% Graciano, this wine spent 36 months in oak and another 36 months in bottle before release. A deep ruby in the glass, it delivers lots of dark red fruit, with layers of spice, leather, vanilla, tobacco and earthiness. The maturity time of this Gran Reserva delivers a beautiful, smoothly balanced wine. Decanted for 1 hour, this will easily last another 10-15 years.
