2011 Roagna Dolcetto D'Alba. The beast lives! This ain't no "Sweetish" drink. Big structure, super savoury, almost salty, blood like character supported by a big core of fruit. Looks like it's had some extended maceration, giving some earthiness and a bit of funk. There's a skinsy character, like the taste of red grape skins post ferment. It stained my tongue black! Dolcetto d'Alba 2014

There is Dolcetto, and then there is Roagna Dolcetto. I have been drinking this since the 2006 or so vintage and this is the best version yet. Cheap, generous, with snap and juicy dark red fruits. Gulpable with a bowl of pasta, a harmonious pairing with sage spiked lamb bolognese. Only 12% abv!! Back up the truck and drink it right away, this is best fresh and not for aging. #roagna — 4 years ago

Solea Langhe Chardonnay Blend 2012

Chardonnay from Piemonte!?🤔
Roagna "Solea" 2012 is sourced from 30 year old vines in the Pira vineyard located within the village of Castiglione Falletto. A small percentage of Nebbiolo is cofermented in with the Chardonnay in large wooden casks, then aged in neutral barrels for 2 years.
Rich up front, a line of saline undercuts the richness. Fresh pear and lemon in the nose and palate. As the palate shifts to the back it becomes linear and minerally, awash in fresh acidity and a long, clean, mineral finish.
