Dunn Vineyards

Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Young wine. Opened at 4pm. Immediate nose is massive blue fruit and incredible aroma. Latter when poured at 530 - super green pepper flavor and tobacco / charcoal. Not ready without food. 7pm - pairing with steak and the greenness has blown off and fruit re appearing on the palate. Now it’s 9pm and wine is really hitting its stride — a year ago

Baron Philippe de Rothschild

Baronesa P. Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2020

Solid blend for Korean BBQ. Notably Chilean on the nose. Strong Cab Sauvignon base with Cabernet Franc, Carmenere, Syrah, and Petit Verdot. Deep color and the palate had good fruit, black pepper and tobacco, which went well with marinated beef. — a year ago

Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin

La Grande Dame Brut Champagne Blend 2012

A floral nose and fruity palate that displays both poise and strength. The finish is generous with flavors of almond, dried apricot, and candied ginger. — a year ago

Domaine de la Janasse

Chaupin Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2020

So young & very closed upon opening.
After 6h breathing this opens up, showing dusty blue & red fruit, fresh, juicy. But there’s also fresh herbs, Lavendel, pomegranate freshness and a pinch of orange peel spiciness. There’s also some mocha, dark chocolate. So enticing!
Amazing freshness & poise on the palate , tannins so polished & juicy, fresh & with great flow. But the depth & precision here are amazing! Wow! This is stunning. So complex & sophisticated but so drinkable at the same time.
What a wine!

Eisacktaler Kerner 2021

Possibly the best kerner I’ve had.

Super fragrant, ripe and tropical on the nose: lychee, jasmine, lemon curd, honeydew. Viscous and soft on palate with laser like acid. Indulgent and delicious.

Que Syrah Vineyard Syrah 2020

Forest floor, leather, tobacco. Natural wine-like funk. Bloody meat, raw salinity, grippy tannins. Still raw; opened one of the case to track evolution. — a year ago
