1 hour decant(chunky and cloudy sediment). A regal inky dark ruby red color. On the nose: Subtle notes of jammy blackberry, floral, graphite, and cedar. Taste: Elegant, smooth, lush full body wine with jammy blackberry, dark cherry, spice, currants, leather and a chocolate espresso long dry finish. Little tannic bite at the end demanding a few more years to fully come together. Still, really enjoying this Saturday night! Cheers! — a year ago
Rose petal, cherry, an earthy component too, a touch of caramel and bit of heat. Wow this is intense. The palate is a monster. There is width, matter, length. There is a massive acid drive, a good grip on the sides with a matter which you could chew on, a rather round, spherical mid palate with an explosive cherry, and a long finish with cherry, these rose notes in retro, and a tiny bit of bitterness to make it classy and to add a layer of complexity. I would have loved a tad more fruit on the nose, up front in the palate and toward the end (maybe a vintage thing) but I'm grateful for the experience. Sometimes you just feel the need to upgrade your standards right 😊? — a year ago
Another terrific showing from the superb Vincent Dauvissat. After an hour decant the wine shows its racy energy, stony minerality, chamomile, oyster shells and its seamless integration of oak and acid. Finishes wonderfully long and with great tension. — a year ago
Celebrating the 2020 election results. Very dark brick color. Supple medium–full bodied. Dark tar and good dried roses and thyme. Prune, cocoa, juicy red fruit. Maybe a little less mellowed and more full than other 2013 we’ve had? Anyway, delicious. From Flatiron Wines. — a year ago
I bought a bunch and tried these over several years. Pale lemon with aromas of stone and green fruits with a citrus notes. On the palate flavors of apple, peach and pear, crisp with good balance, fresh with lively acidity. Long finish, ending with nutty earthy tones. Distributor I met indicated wine can be put down for a few years, he was correct, outstanding wine, still tasting great. — a year ago
Plucked an 8 year old Brunello in a blind taste... practice makes perfect, right?
This still needs more time. Perhaps another 2-4 years. It’s pretty big. Tobacco. Cherry. — a year ago
