This is what a lot of natty wines think they are — a month ago
After a warm 2020 this 2021 is more backwards and classic and reminds me of the 2016‘s. The first bottle had a touch VA which blew off. Second one has no VA. Violets and a hint of roses. Robust beautiful cherry 🍒. Touch bark. This is a top vintage for them. Awesomeness in a bottle for a ridiculous low price for this quality. It’s hard to put the glass down - it is that good. So in this instance I do rate this higher than Lyle F. 3 days later on the Argon line - this is still exceptional elegant and unique. Gained weight and at the same time super elegant. What a wine. — 12 days ago
Tangy, my guess blind was an Enderle & Moll. — a month ago
Unbeatable at this price point. Ridiculous complexity. Strawberry, black forest herbs, touch crushed marble, hint white pepper, fresh juicy acidic ripe Italien prune plums. I have no idea how they do this. — 20 days ago
Surprisingly close in style to the JJ from Martin Woods. Sweet Pinot fruit and cherry 🍒 but perhaps with an edge more to morello cherries. Build towards a drink now Burgh. 13.5%. I must say in the end after trying gazillion of burghs, Oregon and Cali Pinots. And lots of wine from Baden. The German - Enderle & Moll Pinots are the only Pinot which can hold my interest for longer than any other producer in the world. — 19 days ago
Darker than the Muschelkalk with more weight. The M. is grown on Mussel based limestone. This is grown on red sandstone. Like the one used for the Cathedral in Freiburg. Much more approachable then the M. Dark cherries, turmeric, black tea, elderberry, hint black currant. I don’t know but - i just feel sorry for the many people who never had a chance to try these wines. The Muschelkalk is often limited to 1-2 barrels and the Buntsandstein to 3-4. The Liason their mid level wines are more broadly available and also very good. Will be at the winery in May for a barrel tasting. A ridiculous value for the money if you can find it. — 2 months ago
Pinotman /// Andreas
Fleshy and big at this point with amazing tannins. Too young. Cherry 🍒 driven at this point - the classic E&M black forest herbs are there. Seems to me comparable to a GC Vosne. This is a tremendous effort and will improve over time to a glorious benchmark Pinot. I suspect my rating will go up to a 9.8+ in 5 years. What a wine! Should have bought cases! — 5 days ago
